At least right now there is a movement away from the rough stuff, which I think is being lead by the coaches. If you give Montreal a powerplay, Subban will likely get a goal or assist on one. Boston needs to play their checking game without thuggery, but it's looking like Montreal can play that game as well. At any rate the Canadians seem to have the Bruins outside the comfort zone that got them this far. Montreal has been advancing the puck faster than Boston can set up the traps that are the key to their game. The next game is almost a must win for Boston. The Lucic cheapshot earlier may have hindered their ability to play tough because it was blatant. I don't know if it was payback for something else.

In the first round when Seabrook injured the Blues captain, I expected violent retaliation particularly on Toews or Seabrook when he returned from suspension, but this never happened. I guess the Blues coach figured it wasn't worth it to try to win the series. But they should have tried to smash the Hawks because they couldn't skate with them.

couldnt skate with them?

the blues finished 2nd in the entire nhl league. couldnt skate with them?

they had just as much of a chance as the blackhawks

The Blues can't skate with the Blackhawks period; only a couple teams can. There are other ways to beat the Hawks.

The Blues did not finish 2nd in the NHL. They finished 2nd in the Central division of the Western Conference.

A month and a half ago the Blues were 2nd in the League, but they finished the regular season miserably. They lost their last 6 games, were shut out 3 times and were outscored 24-6.

Playoffs
After two Blues victories at home, the hawks beat them 4 in a row. Last year after 2 Blues victories, the Kings beat them four in a row. The year before that they won an opening series then were swept 4-0 by the Kings. For many years before that, they failed to make the playoffs.

So no they didn't have an equal chance to beat the Blackhawks. The Blues, despite their good start, have yet to show that they are a playoff competitor.

Lookin a lot like it's gonna be the Pens vs the Canadiens in round 3 tonight will tell. Pens only need to win one game. Hopefully it will all end tomorrow night for them. I'll certainly be tuned to tonights game. Go Habs.

Most teams don't recover from 3 1 deficits. Montreal wins tonight it's pretty well sowed up for them as well.

One to nothing in overtime. I wish I would have watched the game.

Saw on the highlights some kid playing his first playoff game got the goal.

yeah

also with that dude scoring a goal in the playoffs, it means that each player the Bs got from dalls for seguin has scored in the playoffs. so thats nice

the Bs still gotta play a litte rougher and bigger. its just so dumb to not hit and be physical when its one of your biggest strengths. its shit like this that makes me fucking HATE claude julien. i havent had as muh as usual to complain about him but jesus christ, what the FUCK?!?!?! ive never been a huge fan of him

also hes gotts shake up the lucic line, they havent been doing shit, none of them have been skating or looked engaged or been hitting, ive seen more hits from krejci than lucic or iginlia

straight up, the habs still havent seen us play our best

I agree. Boston has a big tough lineup that is made for hitting people, yet they seem to keep that aspect of their game in reserve.

as a Bs fan, this series is alarming, cuz idk what the fuck theyre doing and they havent looked like themselves...i feel lucky to be tied and we can def still win

im surprised it hasnt been a series full of fights and shit, cuz thats what Bs habs series are typically like, always having a least a couple fights...like jeez even bergeron fought josh gorges in the playoffs a couple years ago...bergeron has been in 2 career fights lol...Bs vs habs is usually a nasty series and right now its just 2 teams who desperately wanna win

its entertaining, but id be lying if i said i wasnt a little disappointed in the lack of physicality/fights/scrums after the play

That's what the C's want. That's how they beat us to ended our home winning streak this year. They use the  B's aggression against them and put the B's in the penalty box.

im really not tho

Bs are better, pure and simple, and we got 2/3 home games left...if we can play our best it shud be an easy 2 more wins

if half the pucks that hit the post (10) in this series went in for the Bs, we'd be winning 3-1 right now...Bs just cant fuckin score, weve had so many chances but its always some shitty bounce or someone missing an empty net or sumthin stupid like that when it shuda been a goal...in game one we legit had at least 5-7 chances to score in OT and whiffed each time

Bs are a resilient team and i have complete faith we'll win this still...in the east we knew the habs would be the hardest team for us to beat, just cuz of match ups

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a Very Merry Christmas. :laugh2: Face it the Bruins are balancing on shit right now. WooHoo a 1 nothing win in overtime.

Anyone else notice that when the Bruins do something bad it's "they fucked up", but when they're doing good it's "fuck yea we're winning!"?

If you're gonna be on the team you gotta be on it when they fuck up too!
