The best times in your life?
    #19222990 - 12/03/13 04:15 PM (10 years, 6 months ago)

Describe what you would consider to be some of the best days of your life in this thread, the peak of your existence thus far. If you can't choose any specific time period, then just talk about a time when you were in a general state of euphoria for a period if that's possible.

Did you and your buddies in College spend a lot of time creating memories that will never be forgotten? What about as a child spending time with a beloved family member? How about right now? Please do tell the tale, WE ALL WANT TO HEAR IT VERY BADLY

Discuss.

Falling in love with my fiance 9 years ago, I still remember the butterflies I had for him in the beginning.

So, my answer would be, the best times of my life have been these past 9 years. Just being with him.

Grade 11, last day of school- My friend stole a joint from his older brother, we lit up, and had a FUCKING BLAST. (first time)

Grade 12 prom- popped a molly and just danced with my ex for the longest time feeling nothing but love, peace, and belonging. I don't get horny on ecstacy unfortunately. (first time)

First year university- skipped a day of frosh week to snort some heroin. The bliss, euphoria, body high, etc was unreal. BY FAR, the best few hours of my life. Nothing comes even remotely close. (first time)

Getting my first gamecube in Grade 2.

Winning an Yu-Gi-Oh tournament in grade 6.

Any summer break- my family always takes me to Eruope and I get to see so many beautiful sights.

Reaching Cuba with my best friend- beautiful beach, all inclusive food, and just getting hammered every night.

The day I got 99 cooking in Runescape.

Any time that I dropped acid.

Just a few that come to mind...

This past year of my life has been wonderful.

I've dropped a lot of acid

I've eaten a lot of mushrooms

I've met some beautiful people

I've acknowledged and realised a lot of important things in life

I've grown as a human being

I've made a big transition in my life coming out a five year depression state and into the light finding a higher, clearer much more positive quality of life than I've ever experienced before and I see only good things on my horizon

:sun:

What about you, sheekle?

Probably the summer before my freshman year of college. That was definitely the happiest i've ever been. I had a really great group of friends and a girl that was way out of my league. Then everyone left for college and everything kind of crumbled. I'd love to relive that summer one more time.

I was taking a ton of amps and drinking that summer so maybe it skewed my memory on how great those times were. Chemically induced or not, I'll always cherish those memories.

I still love life but things were just more exciting when I was younger. Maybe I'm just in a rut. I'm going back to university in January after a 2 year hiatus so I think that'll cure my problem

Freshmen year of college. Meeting people all the time, getting super fucked up all the time with my close friends and blaring music, and making easy A's the whole time in easy freshmen courses

My past is a blur of self-consciousness, anxiety, and depression. I barely remember anything of my childhood. It's all like a dream.

I'm trying to think of a best time....One time I had a go-cart. That was probably pretty fun.

Being a little kid on summer break, riding our bikes around the town, feeling on top of the world. I remember a couple of times the elements were insane but we just played outside having fun. POOOURING.:peace: Biking through puddles, splashing away. Man did we ever do alot of shit in a day. Exploring bushes, playin tag at the park, road hockey...:sunny: Makin fun of the older kids and running or getting beat up.

But right now id say my tops going to BC, its beautiful and it struck a hidden vibe in me:yinyang: GAHHHH goood feelings.

Happy days:heart:

I'm not sure exactly how happy I was, but doin mushrooms for the first time in 10th grade HS made me who I am today. The experience was a catalyst for a massive change in my life where I began to understand how important my health and education are.

As for the happiest moments induced by a substance, I'd say my first time rolling. I have relatively bad social anxiety and the feeling of being completely freed from this anxiety, I cannot even describe in words. I love to trip, but I think empathogens will always be my favorite type of substances. They make me feel like a more perfect human being, if I only it only it lasted a bit longer :frown:

Happiest moment not substance related, there's quite a few from my childhood. Recently though,I finally found a girl who I enjoy being with. I'm not all that great with girls, I just get end up getting real nervous and cutting ties easily. I'm a pretty decent looking dude I think, its just that I get awkward easily. But I love being with this girl and she likes being with me. I'm looking forward to heading home for the winter and spending time with her

There are a lot of memories that come to mind, the most prevalent ones consisting of childhood summers spent with my family. It is very interesting engaging in thought of my childhood, I can see how great of an upbringing I had and how naive I was to it at the time. I can remember great times in the woods behind my house, riding bikes, you know, enjoying being young, but not realizing how wonderful it was at the time.

As far as psychoactive substances go however, my first time smoking cannabis in 8th grade was interesting, however the memory is vague at best because I was unbelievably stoned and it was my first time experiencing anything like that.

Of course my first experience with psilocybin mushrooms at 16 was a profound experience as well as my next time consuming them, both contributed to my maturity and I really think they were sort of a right of passage in a way.

Also one summer evening on a high dosage of morphine I listened to an audiobook of the Two Towers by JRR Tolkien. Never have I felt such equilibrium. Only to wake up to a massive headache and spending the day throwing up, still being very high. I still come to the conclusion that it was a great time prior to waking up the next day ha.

too many.

not to get on some sad shit but when I was younger like age 5 my mom would leave me at my grandparents and they would watch me. I loved that shit, they fucking spoiled me. My grandpa would cook me scrambled eggs and toast all the fucking time! Slathering the toast in fucking butter! I miss him a lot. It fucking sucks! That guy was a war hero too

Then I'd have to say just being little running around at my parents friends house when they had bbq's and shit... The days of no fucking worries. No papers due. No exams. No college.

Then I'd have to move on to 6th grade when I was a bonafide pimp.

moving into middle school I just played Halo 2..

then came high school. Smoked weed for the first timee..
then junior year was fun as fuck...

ahhh
shit
I can go on and on...

as of recently nothing major..just a few trips with friends..

When I first discovered eastern philosophy, meditation, and began reading Alan Watts books. Without going into to much detail, my upbringing left me with a lot of issues involving guilt and self loathing. I had a very strong and difficult solo mushroom trip when I was 17 which changed my life and left me searching for understanding. I don't remember the  exact sequence of events but a year or two later I ended up with some Watts book on Zen, Taoism, and meditation along with a copy of the Tao te Ching. I also began practicing yoga during this time.

Those first moments of realization were beautiful.
True inner peace experienced for the first time ever, after years of depression and self hatred. It really did feel like a huge burden had been lifted off my shoulders, I saw the world with a fresh new perspective, not overburdened with feelings of guilt and negative thought patterns. I also felt genuine compassion and a connection to nature that I had never experienced before.
Of course over time the feeling began to fade, but the experience left its imprint and it taught me that life was worth living, something I had forgotten along the way.

I swear if psychiatry hadn't dubiously nabbed my gun rights, I'd have committed suicide at least 5 or 6 times in the last 3 years. I think things are maybe starting to turn around though and I had this one super awesome day recently where all these bad coincidences backfired and it became the best day this half of this year.

The fact that insightful and clarity provoking experiences, no matter what medium they were achieved through fade, has always bothered me. After a fair amount of contemplation on the subject I think I understand that all one can expect and predict in life is change, and that is intriguing in its own way.

True that. I've spent a good amount of time fervently pursuing  those feelings of insight or "enlightenment"  but really I was just chasing another high. All we can do is enjoy those moments of clarity and peace as they come with the knowledge that they are impermanent and fleeting. The Tao te Ching really resonates with me.

Just go with the flow man :fasted:
