Fruiting Questions

My fruits seem rather small? Granted this one jumped the gun a bit only one other cake out of 6 is fruiting as well. Started with six full cakes fully colonized, had difficulties removing said cakes. Made a casing with the leftover pieces and set the rest of the halves and wholes in the sgfc on pieces of foil. Most are fuzzy white and one is finishing it's first flush. My question is primarily of that one. Why are the bodies so small and a few smaller so fat? Maybe i'm not familiar with PF Hawaiians in their final phases. I am a n00b grower by the way so I know next to nothing. Also why have the veils torn so early in some cases actually tearing the hood of the mushroom before it even has a chance to fully de-veil. As well one of what looks to be a completely fuzzy cake is only showing small aborts on the bottom undersides and side. I have kept the enclosure well humidified as well as as consistently close to 73 degrees as possible with a 12/12 light cycle. Why are the other cakes lagging so far behind? I can see the mycelia networks are very busy even in some cases attaching themselves weblike to the foil as in the fruiting cake's case. It has been about 10 days give or take since these have been birthed.
I feel like a proud father though. Hesitant to touch any just yet as i've not been in the most pleasant of home situations lately.

larger fruits tend to come in later flushes no matter what variety, as for the early veil tears you may be over misting, just wait till the moisture from your mist is no longer visible before misting again, if it's not that it's just the luck of the draw

Ok this all makes quite a bit of sense. I have been rather anally misting. I have a tendency o open the enclosure to gawk at the cakes and mist to compensate for what I perceive as a loss of humidity. In reality the perlite holds the water I suppose so I will follow your advice on waiting until the walls are dry.

don't wait till the walls are dry if your using a sgfc, just mist until the cake glistens and wait for the glisten to go away, that glisten gives you 100 percent humidity on the surface of your cakes where it matters most and can't be measured

I've heard it's not wise to mist the cakes directly? Is this just another hotly contested issue? I've misted everywhere but.

just stand back about a foot or so, as long as your not blasting them and you have a fine mist you will be fine
