I just think it is crazy how conservative church people generally are. Seems they actually believe the bible over science. They think they know everything, because the bible has a lame story of how it all went down. They actually think languages were created from some boner building that went wrong (tower of babble) and that two of every damn animal was put on a boat.
These church people have no reasoning skills nor logic. I've met insane people with more sense of what is real. We didn't come from adam and eve, unless those are evolutionary markers...not real people that learned suffering from temptation.
I will admit that it is hard to beat their system of make belief. Can't aruge with an idiot.

People have a hard time realizing that the bible was the best thing people could come up with about the nature of our existence in the universe 2000 years ago.
We've evolved a lot in 2000 years and now have a better understanding of our place in the universe. Like for instance the universe doesn't revolve around us. It's sad when people can't even realize the evolution of their own species. Those who refuse to evolve in the universe get left behind. Simple as that

That's really not important though. The spiritual truth the Bible has to teach us is far more important whether the sun revolves around the earth or the earth around the sun. Yes in a way its humbling to know that the earth isn't the center of the universe, but the Bible already teaches that we should conduct ourselves with complete humility. Remember, Moses was the meekest of all men and the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve.
So while humanity has evolved a lot in areas that mean nothing, like scientific knowledge, it has not evolved that much spiritually. Humanity is still fooled by the same old delusion of the ego that was the problem in Biblical times.

I don't think church or believers are offensive, I just have a problem with it becoming (or trying to become) a monoculture.
Like right now I live in a city of 250,000 inhabitants, and there's not ONE fucking non-christian establishment I can show up to. No Hindu temple, no weird Ashrams, no Wiccans no Satanists no Voodoo no nothing. Religion should be like a nice tolerant colorful pizza. It should have a myriad different things on it, not just salty olives. Every day all day pizza with just olives.
Oh and the sexual repression. The Romans had orgies. With shitty medicine and no birth control to speak of, they enjoyed fantastic orgies. Nowadays we don't have orgies, and the few we do have are frowned upon, because of crap Christian influence. Same with nudity.
It's not the Christians that offend me, it's the continued absence of things that are hella fun, that we used to have and enjoy, that Christians persecuted out of existence.

Weird how they try to say something (the Earth) isn't the center of the universe when they still don't know how big the universe actually is. I'm not saying the earth is the center, I'm just saying how could you know where the center is with out knowing the boundaries first... I tell you... you can't. It's an assumption. They think because the universe is so big that we couldn't possibly be the center. They still don't know how big it is though so they're far from finding the center.

It's more political than religious. Christianity has been in America for hundreds of years. Drugs have been illegal for much less. I think as a whole humans like to blame people. You also offend Christians, I'm sure so it not really a one way street, bud. It's actually selfish to think of it that way. If you accept them then they're more willing to accept you for who you are although yes, they do try to save your soul and so they preach but just tell them you don't wanna hear it an if they don't stop then tell em they're being disrespectful and if they keep on then you won't accociate with em anymore. Also, you can let them pray for you, it won't kill you.
IT'S POLITICS, not religion.
You say "our" freedoms, what about THEIR freedoms?
The gay sex thing is society based so you can't blame them for that either. We have evolved from a Christian based nation so it has come from them but hey, things are a changing, guy. To be accepted, you must accept what's around you as well. That's where you'll find balance.

I use to work at this gas station, was the local stop for the church near by to fill up the buses they use to haul around in. For some odd reason they would always leave me pamphlets, literally every time they came into my work. That got pretty annoying lol.....
