The specimens I found weren't that cool looking, the cap was just flat and lacked any kind of striation.

Maybe it is Marasmius curreyi? It is a beautiful mushroom whatever it is.

Pointin' & shootin'

What do you guys think about these? Do they all look like the same species to you? They were all immediately around the same tree (Chinese Pistache, also with Redwoods about 20 feet away).

Hypholoma fasciculare

Cortinarius sp.

Tulostoma sp.

Hebeloma crustuliniforme & Arbutus unedo

What appeared to be a tiny Psilocybe. Also found a dried specimen that had a blue margin and partial veil remnants.

We'll see if they mature, it was a very dry area but they were hidden under some bushes.

That looks strangely similar to P. caerulipes.

We have a lot of undescribed Hebeloma, you shouldn't be so quick to call them H. crustuliniforme.

On MO I have it as Hebeloma crustuliniforme group, for now. I will try to do some microscopy on it soon but my work is still pretty shotty.

I'm not really sure about everything that is important, but I'd start with spores (size, shape, and in melzers) and cheilocystidia (Do a crush mount, you need to see the base of the cells). I found two different species on the same lawn once...

I found 400 different species of P. caerulescens in one patch this one time...
