Maybe, maybe not. Cakes can be slow. Did you consolidate your cakes for a week? Obviously you have a hygrometer, but have you visually inspected your cakes for moisture? Do they weigh very little?

The cakes should be glistening with moisture.

Be patient, that's what this hobby is about. Some people can have a grain jar colonize in 2 weeks, but my last batch is almost done after 3. My point being that mushrooms will take their damn time and there's very little you can do about that. Just take a deep breath and wait another week. I'm no pf tek expert at all, but I believe you're supposed to let them consolidate for a week. This does not necessarily mean you will fail! You will probably do just fine, be patient, and wait for your first flush.

I would have liked to see a picture of those stalled cakes. What do they smell like?

If you did not consolidate for the week minimum you can expect pinning to be delayed while the cakes consolidate. Its my understanding that with super nutritious substrates like brf they need to consolidate and will do so regardless if you birth them or not. The reason to leave them in the jars would be less exposure to contams and prevent unnecessary moisture loss.

ok my assumption was that if I birthed a bit earlier then the mushrooms would have more nutrients to use to grow big ,strong & many rather than waiting and letting the mycellium use up all the nutrients. Noob mistake I guess but as long as all is not lost I can and will be patient after all what choice do I have
Not to be that guy, but your first time you really need to follow the tek to the t. These things are writen for a reason and although this is a small mistake, you very well could have left out something very important because it sounded better in theory. Otherwise though, great job, good luck on your grow!

Why didn't you roll them after the dunk? That will make a huge difference IMO.

Yeah, they look healthy enough to fruit. I'm with Pastywhyte, though. It might be worth it for you to buy more vermiculite--your yield will be greatly increased.

I thought the vermiculite layer was only to protect against contamination and hold moisture and it had nothing to do with yield?

It helps to promote a good microclimate at the surface which will aid in pin formation, while pinset is not the only factor in yield, it certainly is a factor.

not Sure why you only have one layer of rocks. I would suggest that you put in more water (don't have to worry about drying up), and Keeping no less than an inch of Rocks above your water line, but would have closer to two.
this way you don't worry about bubbles hitting your cakes or the cakes falling into the water.
