To mist or not to mist?

My grain spawn run just completed, about to put them in the FC, but with this particular run were choosing not to case. Until we have a proper pH reader. So my point being since were not casing right now is it a good idea to mist the trays anyway?
Thanks.

Why not case without a ph reader? Just curious.

with the specific way we're casing, the peat moss vermiculite lime & of course water
A pH reader would just tell us if its good or not to case with.
Just want to be cautious.

are your grains mixed with a bulk substrate? What grains are you using? What species are you trying to fruit? What kind of fruiting chamber are you using?

If you are doing bulk then why do you need perlite? Just mono-tub it.

you shouldn't need a casing anyway. But yeah, mist as needed.

Dude are you fruiting straight grains like cakes? That is not ideal.
To clarify, you made wild bird seed jars that you are going to put into a shotgun fruiting chamber? A big tote with 5 inches of perlite and 1/4" holes in a grid pattern all around?
Edit: Wait what? What method are you following? Ooooooh. Are you making TRAYS to put into a shotgun chamber?

Yes they are in trays already, 100% colonized the coir & on this run yes I'm putting them in my poor mans FC with the perlite because I didn't do a mono-tub... obviously. I figured perlite would at least hold the humidity better than nothing at all. This is my first official wbs grain spawn so I'm still learning. Getting over my brf crutch, hahaha. So please bare with peeps, I'm getting there.
BTW, I still have 16 trays in there spawn run besides the 4 that were ready today. So I'm gauging what the best process would be for me.

I understand. The shotgun fruiting chamber should hold humidity if you built it to spec. Only mist the substrate if it looks dry.
