Bitten!
    #19218434 - 12/02/13 05:48 PM (10 years, 2 months ago)

So I've been bitten on the foot by some kind of insect/spider/creature and the throbbing is getting a bit intense. I didn't see what it was. I was barefoot in my garden admiring a spider in a web as it were...

This is Australia so the there are plenty of creatures that can kill you here :/

Having said that... The bite didn't feel intense, I though i had just stepped on a pointy stick or something... it wasn't a sharp pain just a gradual increasing pinch...

Also there are no funnel webs where I live

nor was I anywhere near a red back so it kinda rules out anything deadly... Still I've been stung by wasps and things before and this is pretty intense. Also feet tend to be more sturdy and can cope with more pain because the skin is so thick.

Not really sure what to do... Might just wait it out. Could have been a trapdoor spider

I know a guy who had been bitten by a hunstman spider... he start running around like he'd done a line of coke.

This however does not feel that way. I'm fairly safe though. Even though I don't have a car my aunty lives right over the road and she has about 4 lol

QFT.

Also, maybe ask your Aunt to check in with you here and there just in case things turn south quick.

Heres a thought:  How about you call your doctor, tell him what happened and ask him what to do next.

Some bites have really nasty consequences.

If i go to quick to seek medical advice I'm afraid I may get in trouble as per the picture below. I'll lose credibility as an Aussie

Also that same aunt is a registered nurse. I'm feeling pretty chill... kinda silly

Some venoms cause you to lose a whole chunk of flesh at the bite site.  The foot is pretty critical, its all bones, joints, tendons and other structural components.

QFT ^^ scary stuff

but none of those species live here... There is a popular misconception that White-tail spiders (which do live here, we get them some times) can do this but they can't and they generally live indoors, or environments like that. Not the garden type environment I was in at the time.

Still throbbing but not noticing anymore side effects. Slight headache coming on but that could be all the coffee and lack of food today. I don't want to rush to associate with the bite.

Call your aunt.  Tell her she should check in on you just to be safe.

If it gets worse call her over.  I wouldn't take too many chances with it.

It wasn't a spider, if you step on a spider and they manage to bite something before being squashed, it will be w/e was below them and not your foot above them.

Its australia, he stepped beside the spider and rather than fleeing it chose to attack.

Here, this isn't normal, but in Australia it is:

Meh your in australia I wouldn't be too worried about being bitten there.

Canada on the other hand, who knows you might get some strange disease making you act all nice.

You need to have the venom sucked out of your dick. Go to the hospital and yell "quick I need a naked nurse!".
