I am pretty sure they are legitimate blue meanies. They grow all around the farm that I work on the Island of Oahu.

Ive seen ones like these in Kaneohe before. The camera on my phone wouldn't take good enough pics to identify them so I left them alone.

Mixed collection, I think they are all inky caps (Psathyrellaceae).
Pic 1 = Too blurry Pic 2, 3, 5-9, & the left side of 4 = Parasola or Coprinellus sect. Setulosi Pics 10-12 & the right side of 4 = Coprinopsis sect Lanatuli

What's a blue meanie? None of those look anything like an active mushroom.

Blue meanie usually refers to Panaeolus cyanescens and other Copelandia. Mushrooms which grow exclusively on herbivore dung.

I've seen it used to refer to cubes & subs before too, I think it pretty much means w/e we want it to.

There is a "blue meanie" cube...probably that an unscrupulous vendor somewhere tried to hawk as a real "blue meanie". I have heard it refer primarily to pan cyans. According to Ralph and some others, it is rumored to be a cross between a cube and a pan cyan, though that's most certainly a load of shit designed to sell spores, as I have no clue as to why someone would bother to do that.

Roger rabbit claims to have successfully done that, but the last I heard he doesn't want to release the details because it supposedly displays mostly cubensis-like characteristics. The 'Blue meanie' cubensis 'strain' is definitely not a hybrid of any kind, it was named like that of course to increase sales, before the uproar about strain naming. Now all names that don't denote a locale are 'forbidden', but now there is a Tasmanian cubensis...

Cool, got any pictures?
Yes, but I'm going to sit on them for the time being. They look too much like cubes, and I frankly don't want to see the inevitable arguments over whether they really are a hybrid or not play out here. When I find the time and inclination to start working with this again, I'll send them to Accugenics for DNA testing for the final word.
