Habitat: Terrestrial. If it was growing from wood, it was buried and there was no trace of it clinging to the base of stipe. Growing in the disturbed area along a power line.
Gills: Pinkish. Attached.
Stem: 3-4 inches.
Cap: See pics. These were dry conditions, so that isn't moisture.
Spore print color: Little sucker didn't drop enough spores to print last night. Hopefully something turns up today, or I'll stick it in the fridge and see if that works.
Bruising: None noted.
Other information: I've never seen this mushroom before yesterday.

Cool texture on #1. Is it possible that the green part is some type of mold?

I don't think so, Poulhi. This mushroom was very fresh...and probably immature, because I haven't been able to get a print.
I want to say Entoloma, because of the pinkish gills, but it doesn't feel quite right.

Thats exactly where my brain went right off the bat, but I agree it doesnt seem quite right. I think its the cap texture and the orange-hue in the gills that keep throwing me off.

Ok, so is it possible that the withish deposit on #3 are spores?

Nope, Looks like Mycelium to me. EDIT: I was looking at #2 haha
Also no on pic #3 though, not spores. I cant remember the proper term off the top of my head, but it naturally occurs on many mushroom species. Pan. Cinctulus have the same "powder" like markings near the top of the stipe.

I think the stipe is pruinose. Pic 3 was taken just before sunset, on my front porch. Light was very harsh, but it did allow me to pick up the fine structures.
This mushroom is probably too immature to be dropping spores. I had it on foil under a glass from 3pm yesterday (still there as of this post). No spores yet.

Might seem like a dumb question; but what color is the paper you have it printing on? EDIT: I'm a moron and didn't see that you said foil
