No.
I believe ego is entangled within the emotional center, through thoughts or the brain.
You just said the ego resides "there"... you weren't referring to the body?
What do you mean by the emotional center? Is that a physical location?

I didn't not mean literally and physically, more figuratively.
Emotions are felt in the ganglia, which is a physical location, but I don't know how I could ever prove that.
If ego is controlling your emotions, then what you feel is determined by the ego.

The 'self' and 'ego' are interpretive placeholders for awareness.
I'm not suggesting there is 'no ego or self', just that when a person points at their self, they're pointing at the awareness which they may or may not believe is their self/ego.

Do You think awareness ceases to exist without ego? I think you probably mean self-awareness or conscious awareness?
The second sentence is pretty confusing.

The second sentence is pretty confusing.
In theory ego and awareness are two separate functions so yes, awareness would exist in absence of ego. Also I should have said "when a person points at their BODY, they're pointing at the awareness which they may or may not believe is their self/ego."
To be clear on ego, it's a function with variable content. No content, no perception of ego. Even with content ego is still simply a function which could be mistaken for the content. It would be like having a talking head on your computer screen. A person might assume the head was the computer when actually the head is a temporary product of the wires and circuits.
Also ego, self, same function variable content. I think people generally speak towards ego when there is the perception of less/no awareness. Neither actually exist as far as I can tell but it's usually not helpful to bring that up in opposition to an idea.
