This pic is the result of focus stacking.

I used the focus bracketing feature on my camera to take three shots at differing focus, and then CombineZP to stack the photos.

I'm not impressed, probably because three photos doesn't provide a whole lot of depth. I might be able to increase it if I widen the focus setting between shots. I'll give it a try next time.

The photo itself doesn't seem too bad.

What sort of camera do you have? I assume you're familiar with the use of aperture to give differing depths of field?

I have a Canon G9. Yes, I'm somewhat aware of how aperture setting can affect depth of field. Just not sure how to use it in low light, macro settings. Plus, this sounded fun.

I'm going to try it again in manual focus, and see if I can combine double the number of pics, with way more change in focus depth between them, and see what happens.

sounds good

Bigger the aperture number the greater the depth of field but less light in. Usually requires a longer exposure in lower light conditions and therefore usually requires a stand or something to steady the camera otherwise you will blur out.

Post your next shot too I'd be interested to see it

I don't know much about photography but that's a decent shot.
