It sucks man.

I felt the same way at 21.  Turned out to be a self-fulfilling prophesy in a way.  Those thoughts eventually led me to heroin addiction.  It took hitting "rock bottom" as they say to really get me to reflect on my life and what I want out of it.

My only advice is to spend more time doing things you love, other than drugs.  Leisure activities are the only thing I've found that curb desires to use.

Do you like to hike?  Do you enjoy looking at the stars?

For me, contemplating nature seems to be most effective way of humbling myself.  When I'm really down I'll go out on a hike and ID wild mushrooms and plants, and ponder the wonders of biological diversity.  At night I'll stare at the stars and try to imagine the vastness of the universe.

Exercise everyday!  And try to eat right (I know it's hard to do when you're poor).

You're online quite a bit. I'd suggest getting out more, pretty sure you've posted before that you don't hang out with people much? If so, try to socialize more. Stay out of the house as much as you can. Even if it means just walking around a park listening to music or something.

You get one life on this earth don't waste it on drugs. There's not really anything we can tell you that you don't know. This all boils down to willpower. Marijuana use is very habitual, so instead of just quitting smoking, replace smoking with something healthy. Long walks, art, learn to play an instrument you don't know how to play, stand up comedy, etc etc.

My advice is to limit time alone because from personal experience I know what a trap that can be. A change of scenery would probably be good for you. Do you have a job? If not get one, even a shitty one.

before your life spirals out of control, take control while you can. And follow through with the changes you decide to make, it will be very easy to be psyched for change tonight, and then to revert back to this in a day or two. Prove to yourself that you're worth a damn and that you aren't weak.

Good luck man:hug:

Also get a job because you'll need money, unless you win the lottery or something in the near future then forget about the job

Man, living in the woods can actually do wonders

Try a 2-week or month long trip with a guide or camping trip as a last resort. Could work.

Yeah took me a long time to quit pot man. Addictive behaviour is something I'm sure some people have a predisposition to.

Maybe pursue some intellectual endeavours? Got relatives overseas?
My faith really helped me out. Going cold turkey and solo never really worked for me. I had to get some good people around me to help stop and then help me to stop from going back again.

It's something I still struggle with. I've got an addictive type personality and if I start again I don't know where I'll stop...

PM me if you wanna

You could go hang out in the woods, but I bet within 24hrs you're trying to go back to civilization. Like PolkA said, there are options for those who need free treatment.

Do you have anyone you can ask for help, i.e. parents?
"I'm not addicted to any certain substance" then you say, "Smoking marijuana.. just can't quit for some reason" seems contradictory to me.

Psychological addictions like weed are hard to quit IMO, but if you've never been able to, I'd say you should sooner than later, as I'd imagine it only gets harder. I don't particularly enjoy taking tolerance breaks from weed either, but the lower tolerance is nice

You're still young; relax. I think it's a good thing you realized this and want to make improvements with yourself. I recommend focusing on and working toward the future to avoid thinking about drugs. Save money for furniture you've always wanted. Plan out a garden to start next season. Learn to cook. Save more money to travel.

Good luck :sun:

Oh, and get off this forum more often, and that means the Growery too

You sound just like me! I haven't used a drug in almost half a year, but I find myself thinking about them all the time. This forum certainly doesn't help much with that haha.

I am also on probation, and smoked heavily through the first six months of it. The whole time I was thinking I was fucked, and there was no way I could stop smoking. Somehow I found the strength to quit. Getting high is awesome, but it is not as great as not having to stress over passing drug tests in my experience and opinion. Take it one day at a time though, and find hobbies/activities to replace getting high with. Find sober friends who do normal people type things. After a while you will get used to the sober life, and the temptation to use won't be nearly as strong. I would also establish a support system with a  group of people that can encourage you when times get tough.

Although, I will admit I am being slightly hypocritical here. I'm getting off my probation in four days, and will probably be getting high more often than I should, haha. Good luck dude...

Its only a problem if you make it one. It really depends on how much you value your health. If you don't care if you die early then it shouldn't effect you that much. Myself, I do alot of drugs but its because they help me cope with my sad existence easier, perhaps there is a way to be happy without them, but I sure haven't found anything that could replace them.

I would try to slowly wean off the drugs, lower your dosage so eventually you'll be able to kick the habit completely. I'm sure if you are determined to quit then you'll do just that. Its not going to be easy, but perhaps you could check into a rehab center & try to ask for advice there, they probably know alot more about quitting drugs than I ever will.

Not sure if this is the greatest suggestion, but consider replacing weed with something safe that won't be detected on a drug screen....kratom is pretty cool, and will help wean you off marijuana. It is generally not great to try and replace one high with another, but I know how scary it can be to even THINK about failing a drug test. So maybe give that a try if you absolutely cannot quit smoking. I just don't wanna see you end up in jail with an extension on your proba.

let me just say (beyond the obvious...) that going out in the woods may not be helpful.  i mean, i think that is one of those things you do when you ARE on drugs.  if you go out in the woods you may just be thinking "wow this would be so much cooler on drugs"

i suggest a big city.  gettn the hang of a big fuckn city is fun, and being on drugs would not be fun, especially if you already have a social phobia.

i mean i know you said you only have like thirty cents or whatever, but you know...  my two cents.
