Letting your mono sit in incubation till it pins.

OK' I was wondering how many of you wait to put your monotubs into fruiting conditions until after the first pins appear? I had always been in such a hurry to get fruits that the second its enough colonized to prevent contams, I fruit. Or try and fruit it till it get a contam. I recently waited to fruit a tub until it pinned. It seemed to produce its first flush quicker than my old way and my % of contains it reduced to almost zero (knock on wood). Anyone know if there is any disadvantage to waiting till it pins to put into fruiting conditions? Like yield or potency. I have heard potency increases if you over consolidate your grain spawn. Could this happen with letting your monotub consolidate to the point of pinning?

Not me....I fruit at 100% colonization.....there is no need to let bulk substrates consolidate.

Is there any downside to waiting till they pin? My fruiting room doesn't have much more room. I could make room for the new mono but prefer to wait if in fact there is no down side a waiting.

I've always fruited at 100 percent. Frank says he gets more aborts if he waits until pins before fruiting
