Would you support a ban on Christian Rock?

I think I would. Some of that shit started playing when I clicked on a website and I am so disgusted by it, I feel like I need to take a shower. It's not that I have that much of a problem with the Christian doctrine. IT'S THE FUCKING MUSIC, IT'S FUCKING TERRIBLE.

I'm more worried about the number of times I have heard Katy Perry songs without ever once choosing to do so willingly. I'm more worried about mainstream garbage because I've never stumbled upon a site that started playing christian rock.

I wouldn't support the ban, christian rock is one of the reasons I quit believing. No god would allow his music to be that shitty, and it's important that the other monogloids recognize that too so they can switch to Metallica when they become angsty teenagers, giving Satan the perfect opportunity to corrupt them.

I work at a car dealership and it's amazing how many people preset their radio to Christian rock.
I swear to god it's always the same bland sounding power ballad with some dude whimpering about how he loves to please Jesus.
Doesnt get any gayer than that.

As much as I hate christian rock I would not support a ban on it, because when you start banning music it becomes a slippery slope and pretty soon the music that you enjoy would be being banned for some bunk reason too.

Well they used to have a group of protestants that tried to outlaw Christian rock. They would march down the sts with signs that said quite clearly "Down with Christian Rock!". I remember that it was on the news recently. The christians tried to rebel by taking their signs & spraying them with graffitti to erase the message but the message got across. It was one of the biggest social issues three years ago but it wasn't well documented, I mean to say, the public wasn't made aware of the issue & only politicians/people at the top knew that it happened.

As a Christian, I generally don't like a lot of it. But... I am enjoying the massive leaps Hillsong has taken. Wouldn't call it Christian Rock... It's more electro style. it's quite good. I really like electronic music.

Christian Rock is lame, but at least its music. Most of the EDM is much worse. They should ban house music and trance first.

Okay, to all of you answering the question of banning it as if it is a real question worthy of serious consideration...I realize banning it would be completely impractical, if at all possible.
Thanks for asserting your libertarianism though. It's quite impressive.

Listening to christian music in public should be punishable to same extent as masturbating in public.

I don't support banning music as others have said. As far as I know the genre may well consist largely of terrible music, but nobody forces me to listen to it. Maybe there is some good stuff but I'm certainly not seeking it out. Peter Tosh has some badass song lyrics taken from Bible verses so it definitely can be done well. It may just be that the audience for christian rock has grown accustomed to expecting it to be shittier than the non-christian equivalent, so shitty musicians are able to peddle their shit to an audience with low expectations.

i wouldn't support banning any form of music, but it seems to me that in attaching christianity to contemporary forms of music something gets lost in translation. i wouldn't go as far to say christian-(insert genre) is bad because it's christian. there are some absolutely beautiful pieces of medieval christian music. hildegard von bingen comes to mind. but bingen's pieces are explicitly intended to be sacred. christian-(insert genre) is mixing the sacred with the profane. and when the sacred is mixed with the profane e.g. "christian rock" the result is often a cheap, grotesque caricature of both ingredients. it's putting "the message" where it typically doesn't belong. so for me, when i hear christian-(insert genre) it generally comes across as intellectually dishonest and creatively diluted. do i care if people listen to it? no. but i certainly have no small tinge of schadenfreude towards its consumers.
