PH balancing casing layers
    #19212818 - 12/01/13 01:47 PM (10 years, 1 month ago)

Hey guys, so I'm planning a pan cyan grow in the future and as a result I have to start dealing with casing layers of course. I always ignored any casing info in the past since I have only grown cubes until now, so I am a little confused. Do people still use lime to balance ph? All of the info on casings I have found are nearly a decade old so I don't know if they're still reliable. Is 50/50 peat and verm all that is necessary, or do I need to add lime to balance the ph?  I really don't wanna fuck up this grow, so I'll pony up and buy the ph meter and the lime, but if I don't need to I'll just stick with verm/peat. Thanks guys, I know there's lots in the search, but it's hard to trust when the author talks about putting the trays back into a fish tank when you're done

You'll want to add lime. Gypsum is good too.

If you see this around a garden store in your area, grab it. It is a 50/50+ casing mix right out of the bag, with lime already added.

Here's how I use it. Works great for everything I've thrown it on, from kings to cubes
