Check out my new SAB 1

I couldn't find a tote as big as I wanted it. Later that same day I met someone who had a pallet of acryllic sheets and a laser cutter. This is what I have now . The lid just slides on and off. Only downside is it's heavier and alcohol will etch it, so I can't use it, but don't really need anything but soapy water in a SAB anyway.

That thing is gorgeous, but those arm holes are way too big to give you actual still air. You'll have to stop them up with something.

You think so? I was even thinking of making a giant rectangular hole like I saw on a professional one someone was selling. I wanted to make sure they're big enough to not constrict my movement. I also normally wear a long sleeve jacket when using it so my arms are more girthy than normally. Just used it for the first time (did those g2g transfers in the pic), so we'll see if they're ok.

It's hard to tell without something next to the opening for scale. But even if it is too large you can just throw some PVC and some sleeves to eliminate that problem. Great looking box

I disagree.
How big are the holes, krypto?
I use 5" holes.
The idea of the SAB is to work carefully and use it in a mostly draft-free space. Hole size shouldn't be a huge issue.
That thing looks great

There's a jar sitting next to the wall there if that can give a frame of reference. They're maybe 1-2" smaller in diameter than a standard sized cd, maybe 6"? I forget what we measured it to exactly.
edit: Thanks frank, means a lot coming from you

Well there are certainly men out there with 6" arms, and if you're a bigger guy that sounds about right. And you obviously still need a little room anyway. Sounds like you know your arm is going to fill it up.
I wouldn't worry about it, easy fix if it becomes a problem anyway.

I put a tape measure to one of my quart jars and it's 4" across the bottom, so 6" sounds about right. I stand corrected, and amend my previous statement: that is a gorgeous box, period.

You should maybe attach tyvek sleeves to the holes but that's just
Beautiful SAB though.

I never liked the idea of attaching the sleeves. It can push air around your wrists and hands while you work.
I prefer to let the sleeves hang loosely, and working in a mostly draft-free space.
