I usually use my polyfil on my jars for 2-3 runs before I replace it. Sometimes I get ocd and replace it each time:shrug:

I'm OCD and replace it every time.

If there was any sign of contam on the previous grow I replace them.

It isn't economical to re-sterilize them.

This question is one of the draw-backs of poly-fil. I would change it every time.

SFD's are a good investment. I'm glad I did.

Polyfil is cheap enough to replace each time:thumbup:

I change if it's falling out or if it gets pulled out while I'm trying to scrape mycelium off the lid.  It works out to once every 1-2 runs, but that's only the way it works out rather than any fear of contamination over here.  Fungal spores die easily.

I use polyfil for all my G2G jars. Easy having only one hole in the lid.

If you have to run a needle into the jar cause you're using lc or something, then going through polyfil is dangerous ime. Had more then a few jars where the needle made too big of a hole in the polyfil so they contam.

I like to use ez-felt for the jars that I put ports into. I replace my ez-felt discs every run though, since it costs about $.50 to make 12 of them.

I should probably get some filter discs, that way my g2g jars dont even have to bother with polyfil. For some reason I cant bring myself to splurge on them though . I've probably spent more replacing polyfil then I would have just buying 100 filter disks

Ive had 3 pc's over the past 3 years. Never blew a seal. When I do a spawn run its usually something like 200-300 jars over the course of two weeks

My stove can only fit 2 of them though, so I use the oldest one for boiling
