Thin foil sucks.

Any grocery or department store should have a roll of heavy duty. I guess bulk is hit or miss, hey?

Screw it, I'd get just a puny roll and only use it for prints if that was all I could find. Just that round these parts we don't have all the same shit some people take for granted. Hydrated lime don't exist, WBS is fuckin pricey, I can only find verm in a hydro shop.

No, a two shroom-rated symbol of arrogance is always going to get the final word.  We're all getting used to that.

I suggest you allow those who wish to use foil to do so since it's an excellent printing medium which can be folded and mailed easily.  I like slides, glass plates, foil and wax paper, but won't declare any to be the last word.

Wax paper is especially good for those making syringes because the spores don't stick to the paper.  Just be careful though because when you pick up the print all the spores will slide off if you tilt it before folding.

THE biggest issue with this hobby is cost prohibitive.

ok , so now ya suggest anyone not meeting your cheap standard,
is somehow invalid?
5$ box of slides, breaks the bank.
thats more of a comment about you than it is about modern bio tech.
thank gawd were not talking something really expensive, like oragami.

the whole biotech industry, is gonna have to reduce its budget by 99.99987% now for your approval.

frank, sterile is defined as " less than one living thing"
even if you got medical grade foil ( and ya dont)
any exposure to your grow hut, would dash any sterile hopes.

prove a roll of foil is sterile frank.
you can claim is close, , but its not definition sterile.
fast and loose on facts, is your cornerstone though.
that, and ignoring those that call out your outdated and questionably
clean( by your admission) grows.

fact is there are many options for biohandling.
if your informed, and have 5$ you have options for more than foil.

as for field samples, last university field trip i was on,
they brought culture and sample bottles, not foil.

use foil if ya like, but to reduce the world to foil,
really limits all the possibilities with modern equipment.

What would they do with foil in the field? We're talking spore printing here, not culture samples. Foil may not be 100% sterile, but it's close, and unless you've grown your mushrooms in a sterile environment and can transfer it to your print medium without leaving sterile conditions, which is completely impractical for a hobbyist grower, then whether your print medium is sterile really makes no difference.
