green mold on fully colonized cakes?
    #1921083 - 09/16/03 12:11 PM (13 years, 7 months ago)

i birthed 2 fully colonized mycobags into my terrarium about a week ago, and i looked today and i'm seeing a few green colored dots on a few areas on one of the cakes (barely noticeable)... i was wondering if this is mold or what... if it is, can i just cut out the contaminated part and leave the cake in the terrarium or should i get rid of the cakes? thx in advance

First you have to be sure it's not bruising blue, which is ok.
If you don't know, you'll have to wait and see how it develops. If it is green and the patches are still small, cut those areas with a sterile knife and dunk the cakes in some h2o:h2o2 solution.

Add 1 portion of h2o2 to 10 portions of water.
