Psilocybin and curing Fear

I have heard psilocybin can "cure" fear type disorders. Anyone have experiences with using psilocybin as a medication for fear or anxiety type disorders? I plan to medicate my PTSD based on the info surrounding this article: http://digitaljournal.com/article/353812 . I don't know why it's so much harder to find it than Cannabis where I live. So I am trying to grow it (alongside medicinal cannabis) but it is taking months just to colonize the rice cakes and no full cakes yet. Thanks for any replies, excluding redundancies.

I could see them helping by making you realize what you fear, is actually nothing to be afraid of. Though psychedelics help show you things, I don't think they can treat any psychiatric disorder on their own. Also, they're certainly not something you want to take on a day to day basis.

i wouldn't necessarily say they can "cure" disorders, but rather can bring certain issues of yours to the surface and allow you to view them within a broader perspective. it is like a mix of cannabis to relax you, a mix of beer to numb you, and a mix of an energy drink to help you concentrate, or something like that. i would be very careful because remember this is self medicated, tread lightly and respectfully.

Yep it really can go either way. There do seem to be examples of successful use of psychedelics in therapy under direction, but doing them on your own to try to fight through major mental problems may be a bad idea. Weed also can go either way with anxiety. Some find it calms them down and others find it makes them more anxious.

This was my first year ever having tried any medication outside of psychiatry. I use the cannabis I grow. At first it was a bit scary and unexpected but I knew that these things take time and patience. I forged on and saw the miracles cannabis could perform with self-talk for example. I am glad to hear psilocybin can take oneself out of singular perspective as does cannabis. I plan on taking an extremely low dose of the shrooms I am waiting to sprout. Like a literal sliver size of a cap and minimum of two hours passing to assess any affects. I have crashed on one caffeine pill mixed with cannabis and that was enough to provoke me to respect anxieties. Now I often mix cannabis with a quarter pill of my prescribed Xanax (Alprazolam) and one puff of Cannabis.
I am hoping Psilocybin can be my magic key to self-therapy. I am hopeful. I have had over 30 professional therapists in my life. I know a thing or two of how to get inside my head. But as to the catalyst, that has to be here or there. Otherwise, euthanasia always looked most promising.
Thanks for your input 'psi', 'mescalean', 'zZZZz', and 'luvdemboomers'. I have "awoken" a lot from taking cannabis already. Medicine is still incredibly naïve. Here is to our better futures.

That's not really how mushrooms work. Plus short term tolerance with mushrooms is insane. Take a small dose on day 1 and you likely won't feel the same dose the next day.

I remain hopeful. I am ok with tolerance. As long as I see a behavioral change of self-assertion more often day to day I will be fine. Sovereignty is the goal, especially for victims of severe abuse. I understand the outcome might be more mundane than I claim to know. I has been verified by institutions of science I have cause to administer to a couple fear based disorders and I have been shown that science is showing empirical evidence for psilocybin being my possible cure. Note "hippocampal neurogenesis" stated in the article. Amazing. If that is what I need or not has yet to be determined but doing nothing is guaranteed failure.
Anyone have any experience with ending old fears post psilocybin?

Good to hear some positive anecdotal evidence. Thank you all for your replies. I am heading my search over to NeuroSoup . com to seek some further aid there. Good "vibes" to you all.
