Addicts: What helps you stay clean?

So those of you who have addiction problems, what non-drug remedies do you find to help you fight cravings and get through the day without using?
Mine:
-Walking: I will walk several hours every day, six or seven days per week. It is hard when I am in w/d but honestly it beats the hell out of laying in bed watching TV. This is good for everything but acute withdrawal, when any such exertion is torture especially in the winter.
-Music: Playing and listening to music is the only natural thing that can trigger good feeling even at my worst. Maybe a really good movie too, but good music is more powerful, cheaper, and easier to come by.
-Family & Clean Friends: Without them I don't think I'd have a reason for getting clean.
-Cannibis: Yeah I know, its a drug. In the worst withdrawals cannibis has the effect of killing my drive to go score even when I feel like total shit. It won't make me feel better, at least not for long, but it certainly helps cope with cravings in the early to middle stages of withdrawal. After a certain point it becomes counterproductive.
-Work: Last time I kicked I was awake 5 days straight and I still went into work to do physical labor. I'm probably a little more energetic than some in this sense, and it hurts like hell physically and mentally, but having something I can dump excess energy into really helps. If I didn't have people counting on me I'd never go to work, so it is a good thing I do when it comes down to it because that is what will get me out of bed and moving.
There's a few of mine! I'm trying to help myself get clean again!
What does it for you?

i try to think two steps ahead and remind myself constantly that it's just not worth it. i know what's going happen if i take that hit, i've done it several times, it's the same results every time.

Welcome! That kinda makes sense despite the obvious problems. I think cocaine and stims in general are linked to mental rewards, the more cognitive side of things which gambling would engage. Opiates/downers seem to be more about physical gratification by the means of suppressing unwanted CNS activity. Or maybe that is just something I made up

I have a hell of a time with this. I prefer to throw myself into things like music, exercise, and work because it may not be getting high, but there is some sense of imminent reward. Once I start really thinking I always talk myself into getting high sooner or later.

I just remember the shittiest part of the habit to remind me why I quit.
And exercise, a lot.

Exercise. I am planning on doing an ironman distance triathalon next summer, and training keeps me focused.
I am also back in school, and that keeps me occupied.
In my leisure time I enjoy cooking and am learning healthy baking.
I don't consider myself an addict, but used to be really addicted to many drugs (primarily ketamine.) - I have no desire to use anything, including alcohol these days, although am not opposed to drugs in anyways and will use psychedelics at some point in the future.
I've actually been sitting on some LSD and DMT for years!
(Hows that for self control!)
I've written extensively about my experiences as a drug addict here in the past, if anyone is interested.
The key it seems is to replace the emptiness that leads us to drugs with something fulfilling AND removing oneself from negative situations which perpetuate bad behaviors.
-------------------- GO OUTSIDE.

Exercise. Helped me quit and helped me stay away. I lift five days a week for 1-1 1/2 hours every day

Had a terrible alcohol addiction for 10 years. Moved 4000miles from my home, decided to go back to school, and smoke bud now. Life is good.
