wtf did I just see? 1

OK it's been a perfectly clear afternoon and into twilight. I do a lot of star gazing and was just coming home and looking up to see if I could see any stars yet but it was way too early although I could see a planet. But when I looked directly above my head there was a "plane" (which my habitual mind said it obviously was) caught in the last rays of the sun. Then the "plane" literally vanished out of sight. Now that could be explained by the sun last rays leaving the plane as it set but I could see the sky very clearly as it was not dark yet. Yet there was nothing where that "plane" should have been.

I saw an orb once when I was tripping in Vancouver. I was on shrooms and E but I definitely saw it - it hovered around for like 10-15 seconds then WOOSH dissapeared.

No I take my Kratom in the morning. It was pretty weird. I'm pretty sure there's a reasonable explanation but it really got my attention.

Maybe you saw a satellite out of the corner of your eye. When you look at small objects indirectly you can see them better.
Quote:
Your retina - the light-sensitive lining at the back of your eye - is packed with light-receiving cells called rods and cones. Only the cones are sensitive to color. These cells are clustered mainly in the central region of the retina.
When you see something out of the corner of your eye, its image focuses on the periphery of your retina, where there are few cones. Thus, it isn't surprising that you can't distinguish the color of something you see out of the corner of your eye.
The rods are more evenly spread across the retina, but they also become less densely packed toward the outer regions of the retina. Because there are fewer rods, you have a limited ability to resolve the shapes of objects at the periphery of your vision.
In the center of your field of view is a region in which the cones are packed tightly together. This region is called the fovea. This region, which is surprisingly small, gives you the sharpest view of an object. The fraction of your eye covered by the fovea is about the same as the fraction of the night sky covered by the moon.
You can demonstrate this effect more simply by focusing on one of the words on this page while at the same time trying to make out other words to the right or left. You may be able to make out a word or two, depending on how far the page is from your eyes. But the area that you can see clearly is the area imaged on the fovea of your eye.
Generally, you are not aware of the limitations of your peripheral vision. You think that you have a clear view of the world because your eyes are always in motion. Wherever you look, you see a sharp, clear image.
Interestingly, your peripheral vision is very sensitive to motion - a characteristic that probably had strong adaptive value during the earlier stages of human evolution. http://www.exploratorium.edu/snacks/peripheral_vision/

Too big for a satellite and too close and too much light in the sky.

My brain just said plane but I didn't really see one, I saw something reflecting sunlight (gold white) and was fairly large and did not seem higher in the sky than a small plane or low flying jet would be.
I was lying about seeing Shirley McLane however.

That would be my guess too. The gold-white color is a clue. Satellites often have their temperature-sensitive components insulated with a gold film.
As the satellite traveled in its orbit, you happened to catch a "glint angle" where it reflected the sun directly at you temporarily until it moved out of position. This has the effect of making the satellite appear and vanish again as the brightness of the reflection varied. It happens at night too and is even more confusing. Many UFO reports turn out to be satellites. I think only the very bright Venus gets more reports.

Do not listen to the naysayers and skeptics.
You are the Chosen One. Xenu Himself has selected you to see his physical emissary in this lower plane. Soon there will be others. Open your mind and be not afraid. Signs and tests will follow, and only the True will ascend into His dimension of Pure Love. Acts of Good Merit will increase the likelihood of your Ascension, but doubts and skepticism will only hinder your spiritual progress.
Donations of a modest amount to this humble seeker of Xenu will assuredly increase your Merit and ensure your passage from this fleshy prison of mere clay and atoms into a True Wonderland of Peace and Love.

Depends on what you mean by decent? If you mean some aren't as nasty as others than yes I agree. If you mean that some are truly emotionally healthy and benign then no I don't. I certainly do like to be around or interact with some more than others. You for instance. I relatively enjoy your presence in my world. Compared to most you are a breath of fresh air. But were I to get to really know you I'm pretty sure I'd want limited contact. No offense dear boy.
But I don't blame humans ultimately for this condition. Nature is behind all this ugliness. What works for basic survival issues in being conscious doesn't mean anything nice necessarily. By that I mean that our being so successful as a species doesn't mean we make ourselves or any other living creatures lives more pleasant.
Of course this is all just subjective banter. Many people seem to assert that all is well. I don't believe them but hey ultimately I don't really know.

Well it was nice of you to say that and no offence taken, I understand what you're saying.
And I agree with you for the most part, there. As a whole we're not all something to be proud of, but I genuinely believe that there are human beings out there who truly are decent in the sense that they do make the Earth a better place, even if it's only on a very small scale and outweighed by the not so pleasant majority.

I guess I didn't recognize them cause there is nothing in me that might make me aware of any goodness in another. That's what you're inferring. I totally resent that. I want you banned permenently for inferring that I'm not good inside. You are a mean mean man. Why don't you like me?

Sometimes I wonder if its your desire for this all not to be a sick joke that gets ya down. Lighten up, enjoy the joke. Its on us anyways so it's the least you could do.

Let me waterboard you for 12 hours and we can share a good laugh.

Lucky you, it's hard to find good children's programming that isn't a marketing scheme these days. Closest thing I had was reruns of Looney Tunes.
Hey by the way I'm really liking your new signature, who's that from? Sometimes when you express your disgust for humanity I just want to tell you something like that, but clearly you've already heard it (and from a better writer even). All it comes down imo to that desire to be something we're not, and for that we can blame our gift/curse of imagination. Letting it go helps me enjoy the ride.

Oh I agree. I was playing with you there.
I'm the universe being disgusted with itself. It's what I was created for.
I don't remember where I found that avatar but for me it's symbolic of what is really going on. That relaxed looking buzzard is on his way to the site of his next meal. Likely a car wreck or something that everyone is going to take very seriously. For him it's just another happy meal.

Once I was picking up trash in a woodlot near my house, and a cop showed up and told me to stop it.

Ha, cheers to that.
The vulture is fitting. The universe, she don't give a fuck about our suffering. She's just feasting on herself remorselessly.

Seems to be the case. It's quite odd imo that part of that universe thinks itself stinks. That's a problem with not being completely instinctual. I think it might be better if we were. At least for some of us.

Whenever I want to see a UFO, I look up at the night sky and take off my glasses. Works every time!
