Killing spores with too high incubation temps?

So I tried to start some cultures from a microscopy kit I picked up. I didn't properly monitor the temperature in the room where I was trying to incubate them. After about 3 weeks of nothing happening, the mycelium didn't even start. I decided to get a thermometer. Turns out, the temperature was just over 95 degrees F. Is there a chance that the spores were killed off in the jars?
Or is there a chance that if I get the room temperature to around 80-83 degrees F, will they start to germinate? or was it at too high a temperature for too long? Thanks.

Hard to say, give em time and see what happens. This however is a perfect example why incubation is frowned upon. Unless your room is colder than 65F there is no need for incubation.

What was the procedure for the kit? Why is the room that warm? Room temp is perfect. If you're comfortable, so is the culture.

Usually a "microscopy kit" is how most vendors refer to prints and syringes.

For some reason I doubt that 95 degree's would have killed the spores. Think about it, in nature they face temperature much higher, otherwise a scorching summer would kill all the mushrooms.

Although Ive read that it is possible to fry them (depending on species anything above 90 degrees fahrenheit on the high and 50 on the low) I doubt they are dead. If its a tropical species (like cubes) i beleive the generally agreed upon ideal temp is like 73 degrees or something. Though they will still grow just fine higher or lower. Just they will be slower to colonize.

The spores that never germinated are probably fine. Any that did germinate probably ended up as dead or damaged mycelium. Your jars are a little setback, but probably not toast. Ditch the incubator and give em some time.

I got that much. I was just asking about his procedures.

I usaly store them at room temp for the first 5-7days then they go into a incubator get growth then up the temp and kick em into over drive

Thanks for all the responses. I followed this http://www.fungifun.org/English/Pftek procedure. The room was so warm cuz I put a little space heater in there from the time the jars were inncoulated. I wasn't sure about the temps in my closet cuz the heater just has a variable dial, no temp guides. I just turned the heater off today. So I hoping there's a chance they will still be good. This is my first experiment with this, so I'm learning the process at this point of time.

I feel like the best way to incubate is to test the temperature before hand. See what your temp is in the incubator, and adjust the thermostat accordingly.
Sustained 95 is pretty bad. Also, depends on the genetics.

I don't remember exactly what temperature they die but it's something like 125-130F. The death temperature for the mycelium is also over 100F. 95F would probably be enough to keep them from growing at all during that period.

95F for extended periods will certainly do a number on your viable spores

Why not just use room temperature?
The high temps probably also has created a nice amount of contamination in your spawn.
