Heart Rate during DMT Experience ?! 1

The graph was produced with a Garmin fitness watch which uses a chest strap to measure heart rate. Logging started just before inhalation of 25mg of vaporized DMT when the heart rate was 120 BPM, due to predose anxiety. This was certainly not a breakthrough dose but strong visions were experienced as heart rate escalated to just under 170. The rate then gently returned to around 80 BPM. I don't know what the significance of this is. I'm not a scientist, just a man with a watch

That's interesting, cool experiment, and thank you for sharing! My heart goes nuts just as I'm taking the first hit, it's interesting to see it mapped out like this

Very interesting! It'd be interesting to wear one of those during a psychedelic trip. It might help map out and remember parts of your trips better.
Is it uncomfortable to wear?

No it's not uncomfortable
The rates are probably more elevated than most due to underlying generalized anxiety. Whether or not we can compare the DMT experience to high intensity exercise is beyond me. I don't believe DMT has a high affinity to alpha/beta adrenal receptors so I think what is being experience would be better off being compared to any other fear response, roller coaster effect, opposed to a stimulant effect. Whether or not this is dangerous is also beyond me, perhaps a blood pressure monitor should be acquired to determine if vasodilation occurs.

when my heart rate goes up on psychedelics i get the sense of dying, the faster it goes up the more i see my imminent death. after having this happen though, i think you can control it almost. and maybe that's why ego-death happens, your heart rate goes up so fast that you're mind thinks it's going to have a heart attack and thus creates a false illusion of death. maybe that's why dmt breakthroughs almost always result in ego-death since you're heart rate shoots up, unless you're experienced. idk tho, and you saying you didn't have too hard of a trip but you're heart rate did go up kind of negates this so i got nothing
