It will just make it a little tricky to transfer, but it should still work. You will get less condensation if you pour them thinner as well. A plate that thick will last a long time in the fridge tho

When I do transfer it should I cut out a tiny piece and drop it upside down on the new plate, or just however it lands? Some of them are a bit thinner but for the most part they're around that thickness.

How do I loosen the agar from the mini round enough to dump into the jar?
Do I just use a sterilized knifed and dig it out? Feels like it'll break up if I do.
I would use an inoculation loop. I've always found blades frustrating to use with these kind of jars.

If your talking about the Tiger Drop to inoculate your jars all you gotta do is gently pinch in the bottom while you hold it over the receiving jar and it will pop out real easy. It will drop into a widemouth with ease.

Yeah, I read through it, and I just can't see these coming loose. Especially the ones that are slanted so there's a spot that didn't get agar.
I have a scalpel, but I feel like if I dig at it, it'll just obliterate the myc.
I'm trying in like an hour (just ousted my SAB). I'm convinced I'm going to fuck this all the way up.

What are plates suppose to smell like ? I have these plates that I put some LC onto and the liquid turned white but it smells kinda weird and the white does not really look rhizo but it don't really look contaminated either but it kinda seemed to stop growing

Probably contamed. The plate should not smell when closed and if it does then no good. Sounds to me like your LC is bacterial. A pic of course always helps.

Yeah LC is sketch. Main reason why people discourage its use. I like it for some things but, it needs to be treated with care.

Do you think there is any way of transferring to make a clean plate ? I'd hate for this to go to waste

TBH I don't see anything really salvageable there. The pic is a llittle small but it looks like solid bacteria to me. Something that contamed is gonna be tricky to clean up, if it was me I would start a new culture on agar with spores.
