Look for a local home brew store, other wise northern brewer is a pretty legit online brew supply place.

My plan is to get good growth on them from a spore syringe I made last night and then use that to inoculate grain jars with. that way I hopefully won't waste any Rye berries to a contamed syringe.
Im pretty sure its 6 grams. Think about a gram of coke?
All powders have a different density. I usually use more spoonfuls of agar than I do elme for equal weights.
Sure but thinking about a gram of coke on a Monday is decadent.

Ok so let me see i have done it again made my own agar using agar blocks and potato starch all ground up. made 50 mini rounds and 20 full dish with 8 no pour dishes. and even filling mini rounds to over flowing they still drying out. its kind of fun seeing them running in the dishes. but with the no pour I just add grain on top and shake. no contaminants in my agar this time around. got to say no pour make it so much easier to make a good spawn jar so that grain to grain is done great. This is only for doing my cubes as I am making GLC for my shiitakes which is a done with 50/50 sawdust and grain. I just need something for cubes to keep the contames out of the spawn

To be honest I'm not sure what I'm looking at Try storing your pour plates in ziploc bags to keep them from drying out. As for the no pour containers, how big is the hole in them? Do those things for a good seal on the lid? My mini rounds usually have a few months before they dry out. A 1/4" hole should be plenty.

Wrap the entire round in foil all over making sure there is no opening for steam or water to get in.
Once wrapped you can kinda grind them on the stove top to flatten the foil on the bottom out so that they'll sit level in the pc and when stacked.
Don't grind them on the countertop or you'll get aluminum foil dust all over your nice counter and it's a pain to get off.

I am sure SFD works fine. I have used the ziploc ones but while they can work, I find that they are prone to excessive condensation as well as being large, unwieldy, and take up way too much room in my fridge. Give em a try if you want tho.

My favorite are the Ziploc pop tops they are smaller than the screw tops but bigger than the mini rounds which I find a bit small. I have also found they seem to hold up a little better than the mini rounds.
