How do no pour dishes dry out more slowly than poured dishes?
Well it must be that i use less agar in a dish then in a jar i add more. Just with making from spores, I seam to take for ever and i been not sealing my dish, but the transfer to the jar is sealed and i am new to doing agar. And must be dry in my place,
I think they're worried that no pour dishes, due the to the GE created by a hole with polyfill / micropore tap, will lose moisture quicker than a regular petri.
I have mini rounds right now that are 4 weeks old and the agar is still spread from one side of the container to the other. No sign of contracting.
I think when the myelium is actually growing on the agar though it's going to use the moisture in the substrate.
I have seen extremely old minirounds with myc on them shrivel up and dry out.
The crazy fucking thing is though... When you drop those shriveled rounds into grain jars (LIKE A FUCKING TIGER BTCHES) it rehydrates completely and the myc takes off.

Yeah, I use 2 rows of jar rings to elevate then only fill the water to there. You don't need a lot of water for the 45 min.

To anyone that's about to do this tek, $18 and about 45 minutes from scratch to PC. Dumb easy, too.
Unless I totally fucked something up.

How much mix did you use for each round?

Might want to put it in more controlled conditions. The potency was a little low. I've noticed most of my outdoor fruits suffer this issue.

Soup spoon.
Didn't think the thickness (in diameter, not viscosity) was crucial or anything so I wasn't terribly precise with the ladling.

Cos I am dum.
If they cool at any kind of angle due to foil unevenness and they're thin, you don't get total coverage.

I made a few this weekend and I went pretty thin. A few of them turned out looking more like slants than plates but they still work. They just have less surface aria.

I'll try to get some pics, but all my plates look like they're growing exclusively arial myc.
It's so fluffy.

You can try cutting the nutes back a bit but, if you have a lot of genetics that will also contribute to the fuzzy look.

I was concerned I'd used too much karo. Didn't realize hungrier myc was heartier myc, but I guess that kind of makes sense.
Probably all the rounds I made will have that issue. Sucks, I just set up my sab and am about to shoer for transfer.
