the blunt keeps it burning slow son! green dutch FTW, tho I'm more of a spliff guy myself... ok so to clarify for my curiosity, ur saying that weed cafe's, dispensaries, etc, keep/store/sell their weed with a certain, albeit minimal, percentage of moisture, and that is for taste reasons? interesting. never knew that!

Ahha, vanilla dutch or bust! Proper moisture content and rolling it tight (or slow rolling) will make it burn longer. Most stuff at the shops have probably already had a month or more of curing time for the taste profile to develop. Plus unlike shrooms where you lose ALL water weight, with bud I think the proper content is something like 10%, so you gain a slight weight advantage by not having it bone dry.

I had an idea. As I mentioned before the main problem I have with these pp5 containers is the lack of transparency. I had some old CD-Rs sitting around and noticed the metal flaking off on some of them. The CDs are made of polycarbonate and can withstand PC temperatures. So I tried to get as much of the metal off as I could. It was actually looking pretty good until I got the idea use sandpaper and scuffed up the whole thing. Any ideas for getting this metal layer off without scratching it? Could make a nice little transparent lid from it.

The only method I could find is slapping some packing tape over metal side and yanking it off but I can't seem to get all the metal off like that.

How do you plan on attaching the lid to the pp5?

So you're talking about PCing with the blue lids, then placing the cds on top after you noc the plates? If you fill with agar, and attach the cd lid with rtv before PCing, how will you gain access?

i know condensation can be a problem with these, but is it that bad?!?! just use these when u start culture work, and transfer to petris later on, before grain, for better visibility.
edit: also this may be considered but it has worked for me every time...so that paper towel u fold up and put above the lid, gets wrapped in foil WITH the pp5. it is therefore sterile, and i use that to wipe the walls of the PP5 inside the SAB, works for me

I just give a few flicks with the finger to have the water drops pool down then I pour it out when in the SAB.
Usually my SAB has a soapy paper towel at the bottom to catch any contams flying around

I'll post a pic if I finish one. It'd probably be easier than trying to explain it.

The condensation always disappears after a day or two for me. Is this not the same for everyone else?

After being pointed to this thread, I am pretty sure I have poured my last Petri dish. Less funds, waste and fuss. WIN WIN WIN.

Nice I been looking at doing a no pour as my petri dishes keep drying out before get any good Myc. And i would hate to use distilled water to bring them back. So, I was going to the LUND's store and getting the PP5 clear Deli snap on lids for free. And saving any glass jar. I do have a very nice isolated Strain for some cubes , now. Dropped in a jar with a needle port. So my plan was to Just add some pressure cooked mullet on top of the MYC. but, now thinking i could use it to make a agar to LC to just Inject more PP5 no pour. As i think the less i open any thing the better it is. I use tyvek for my AE but i just put 2 round's on my lids. And been fine in pc without a foil wrap. I will have to see how what you all have said works out here. And my grain bags are the extra large ones 3 Gallon ones. So I thank you all for the good info here

How do no pour dishes dry out more slowly than poured dishes?

Well it must be that i use less agar in a dish then in a jar i add more. Just with making from spores, I seam to take for ever and i been not sealing my dish, but the transfer to the jar is sealed and i am new to doing agar. And must be dry in my place,
