So what would happen if I used no honey? Because I really don't want to drive an hour lol.

Oh, probably nothing too bad in particular. A few granules of pure cane sugar probably wouldn't hurt though if you have anything like that.
I thought you were saying you had honey available but not karo, and I was like "wtf you waiting for?"

I'm going back tomorrow and I'll grab the karo, it just wasn't in my bag of agar stuff for some reason
I'll give it a shot anyway, everything is closed right now.

The potato flakes by them selves will provide plenty of carbohydrates and sugars into your agar media to sustain luxuriant mycelial growth. There's no need to add additional sugar sources. Whether you do or not is going to entirely be a matter of personal preference not a deal breaker.

I know this is a little late, but all my pasty plates use polyfill.
Works great with no problems, every time.

Glass jars or any PP5 plastic container will work. I use a few different brands of small PP5s. The small square Ziplocs are probably the closest to the glad mini rounds.

I prefer the squat wide mouth half pint jars for no pours. Being able to see the culture well from above is sacrificed for considerably more amount of horizontal space for the culture to grow radially out upon.
