The agar might end up on the drier side, but yes you could.

Let it sit for a day or two and watch all the bacteria from your fingers bloom.

Can I PC these with my grain jars or will they boil over/overcook if I put them in the PC for an extra hour?

I've actually never pced agar with grain spawn, I'll try that soon. I imagine it'd be fine.

Thanks
I'll give it a try here in a few days. If it makes a mess I'll report back

Here is a totally dumb question.
Can you leave out the karo/honey?
I just did up 8 plates but I forgot the drop of karo/honey. I used a mortar and pistil to break up the agar and potato flakes. theyve been in the pc for 5 minutes now. Should I turn it off, clean up and try again or could they still possibly work if there were enough potato in the mix?

It helps with germination and leap off but is not a deal breaker. BRF cakes and grain jars don't have simple sugars. Well mine do sometimes but thats a topic for a different thread

So just expect slower times on the dish and then isolate from there?

Slower germination and leap off, faster growth after germination and leap off. Also yes it will be fine.

Has anyone ever used protein powder? I have used malted barley extract and malted barley extract/protein powder. Haven't seen a difference between the two but have not tried agar with just the protein powder.

I followed a recipe and just used agar, corn dextrose and potatoe water and food coloring. I really loved how simple this tek was and easy to fallow. got my hands wet and feel a little more knowledgeable.
