Could be anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks for germination and a week to 10 days to grow. But a transfer is recommended to be sure its clean.

Pasty I asked you this before but can you explain why its not feasible to use the small GE hole on top of the lids as an injection port for a syringe or something then covering it with another piece of micropore tape?
I believe you, but I'm just trying to understand where the risk of contam or whatever comes into play.

Fheyr13 said: I just inoculated 6 pasty plates. On average how long until they're ready for the Tiger Drop?
If you're really confident in your clean technique you could drop them right now and they'd still grow out.
But I usually wait until the plate is at least 50% - 75% colonized.
I used to wait until 100% colonization of the plate but usually any contamination will show up before the desired mycelium begins to take off.
But yea germination takes a couple days and then growing it out takes a few days after that. Plan on at least a week.

Thanks guys. Just checking in for a spell. I got a wicked fucking oyster culture that is dominating everything it touches.

Yeeeeeeah that's a culture that said 'fuck you synthetic filter disc' and grew around it.

Hey for the potato flakes in this, how much light malt extract would you use in place of the potatoes? For one batch of pasty plates? Thanks

Fucking awesome man.... yea that oyster mycelium is some fast, strong growing shit.... It amazed me when I first started working with it. It goes from a speck of white to whipped cream in no time....

Metabolites. I should have spawned it way earlier but I wasn't prepared for how fast it would be.

I don't think I ever want to grow oysters with the crazy shit I've seen. I'm scared I'll find them growing up out of the garbage disposal and in my shoes and the shower drain and shit.
