If you feel like you really need to open it do it in a SAB. Personally I don't like to open anything until I'm actually using it.

Right on. Definitely in a SAB.
I'd just like to get a good photograph of one plate.
Thanks, Muda. Creeper!

I'm trying to isolate a monoculture for kicks. To make less nutritious agar, I'd cut back on both the potato flakes and Karo? I usually run a double batch at once so I have 5g of blended bar agar, 2 drops of Karo and 4 teaspoons of potato flakes.
Would 1 drop of Karo and 3 teaspoons of potato flakes be sufficient?

Yes. You could even go with 2 - 2.5 teaspoons potato flakes.

Solid. I'll do that for sure. Should the plate be more nutritious when germinating spores vs. a transfer or clone?

They are cool. My Wal-Mart just started selling 4 pack with plastic lids. They are expensive, but reusable and easy viewing.

glad switched it's mini rounds to square. Picked some up today and going to give them a shot.
Is silicone applied SFD overkill on a pasty plate?

Fucking Ziploc stopped making the round pop tops that I like too. It's all square and rectangular containers now.

I just inoculated 6 pasty plates. On average how long until they're ready for the Tiger Drop?
