I went ahead and transferred it. I usually have really good sterile technique, but I was in a hurry the other day when I did these. Lesson learned on that. Hopefully I was able to transfer away from it.

I'm just curious with the blue lid on top how can u get a decent look into the tub in order to see the growth properly or any contams? I was considering buying these pp5 containers first my first attempts with agar yet curious as to how the black lid would effect things but I'd assume it's the same as the blue ones on the mini rounds?

Lids suck for visibility in most nopours

So pretty much everyone is always looking through the sides, right? I've seen some pics through the top of the mini-rounds that were less than terrible

That's nice and clear. What are those, $1 for 4? That's a good deal, if so.

I have been using pasty plates for a year or two now. I recently wanted to expand and bought some new packages of glad mini rounds. Over half the lids from my new batches are warping and not fitting snugly after a PC round. In fact most fall right off the bottom. Is any on else having this issue? I wonder if something happened in the way the lids are made or if its something I have done differently. All my old ones are still fine.

Pretty sure in like first page of this thread Pasty mentions he gets a bad batch every now and then that doesn't last as long. Quality control is probably less than great

Fuck yea, just found a bunch of these locally, even had two 5 packs for $1. Picked up 18 for $4.32, which is $0.24 each. That's about half what I've been paying for the glad mini rounds. They're bigger, but cost is important to me, and the higher sides will likely just help keep contams out while I'm doing transfers. Thanks again for the tip!

Are you sure they are Pp5.
They aren't dishwasher or microwave safe the website says.

They are PP, dishwasher and microwave safe, actually (although it's just the fact that they are polypropylene that matters). Last page of this thread, someone recommended them to me specifically for no-pours

They're made of polypropylene, They hold up fine after dozens of pc cycles (although just like the mini rounds the lids don't always snap on as securely after a few runs).
The website says "Not recommended for microwave or dishwasher use." But the packaging says "microwave, freezer, top rack of dishwasher safe"

Somehow, the first time I was in the aisle I missed the fact that they have these, which are almost identical to the mini-rounds, but about half the price. Just got 20 for $5, fuck yea.

Just found these at winco today, and I'm in love.
Pp5, flat bottom, sturdier lid (so likely less warping) less texturing on the sides and bottom for better visibility, and screw tops for a better fit longer. The snap ons have a tendency to stop fitting well after a few cycles.
Oh yeah, and perfect locking stacking, the bottom fits inside the raised outer lip of the lid of one underneath it. Great for storage of not-yet-used plates and long-term in the fridge.
Already threw one through a PC cycle just to make sure it was going to hold up, and now I'm going to buy every one I can find.
