I have a few pasties of GT doing the same. My plan was to clone them. My hope is that if I clone pasty to pasty, I will have fewer chances of contamination.

I usually clone to petris but theres no reason why you cant put it in a pastyplate. the only problem would be getting the pin off the scaplpel, I'd usually push the pin off with the inside rim of the jar.

Thats been my limited experience too. (With the few doner plates I inoculated. And now the T1 plates...)
Makes it harder to see. But not impossible. Lol
The condensation does seem to clear up nicely, after a week or two

Well, I transferred some pins from overgrown plates last night, but I used petries not pasty plates, because all my mini's were either being used or need to be replaced.

I've made two batches of these plates and overall they've worked great. My problem is that both times, a couple of the plates had excess water in them when I took them out of the PC, resulting in very soft agar with maybe half a teaspoon of water on top. The rest were fine. Anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

They do tend to have condensation in them but, it goes away after a few days. It's never caused a problem for me using them right away either. I do try to stay ahead of the game and have a batch of plates ready to use ahead of time. That gives the condensation time to dry up.

Hi Pastywhyte thank you for this awesome tek. Couple of quick questions:
If the agar is super moist and gelatin like with liquids sloshing a bit, will this still be good for the mycelium? (First time prepping agar, and the agar was probably not brought to a simmer long enough and the ingredients weren't mixed thoroughly enough. They were inoculated, but no growth. It is assumed because of the agar being wet and semi-fluid.
Can the liquid be transferred to a more solid agar dish? Or should these just be chucked and started over?
