I just ordered these; super high hopes. These are the 2 .oz variety, but also come in 4 .oz and higher.

Will those hold up to a PC cycle?

the number '5' in pp is just a recycling code number sometimes you can see just the number '5' and it means the same...
pp or pp5 or '5' means all the same... it means the material is made of polypropylene plastic

Yeah, i made sure it was PP5.
Will do just fine in the PC for at least 4-5 runs I'd imagine.

Visibility is for fancy people
I like visibility but don't get any

Pasty plates are just a sure-proof way of getting into more advanced mycology with ease. Pure genius derived from a collective of learning that inspired one individual to share his discovery with the rest.
Not one mf'er ever said they did pasty plates first, learned nothing, and moved onto pouring tek's. That's a damn lie.
I'll also happily note this is PG-13 friendly TEK. I can show my nephew how to clone Turkey Tail and isolate healthy tissue using these, and I plan too. That will go on to grow out medicinals to be tinctured and provided to those who need it. I can also provide healthy, delicious, organic food for my family using this TEK, with edible cultures.

I don't want to be taken the wrong way, as the pasty plates are engenius, to say the least. Literally, my only 'downside', if you can even call it that, is the poor visibility of the glad rounds. That's it... it is a great TEK, and I am personally following it as we speak. I have just been in search of "more clear" containers.
And I ONLY put links here for containers I think others might have not seen.

I literally just found out I had a hidden contaminant (mycogone) which resulted in the failure of at least one of my most recent tubs.
It's a white mold not easy to identify on agar. This is my first experience with it.
I found this thread: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/22020260
Regards hidden contaminations on petris like this, by Mad Season.

Sorry to break it to you, but I read the reviews on those and they say they are really small and break easily. Would be super nice if they work though, they seem really clear. Let us know what you think of them.

Got them today... They seem really decently made for the price. One downside about them I already notice compared to the pastyplate glad rounds, the Lids are a summbitch to get off, and you most certainly will not be able to do that in a SAB one-handed. It's going to absolutely need to be pre-depressed from the soufflet cup. Almost annoyingly water-tight.

They might loosen up after a pc cycle you never know. My pasty plates lids are much looser compared to how they were new.

Yesss, I found that a few of the glad round lids just lift right off of the container after a PC. I only usually have that in about 2/8 lids.. Which is not bad for the glad rounds.
I will keep you all updated on the most recent ones I posted

Would the classic zig zag pattern be best for streaking with spores from print.

Yes and no, it helps but the important part is getting the spores on there

any type of streak will do but certain types are better for diluting the spore load as you go. if you are trying to limit genetics then you should look into it. otherwise just streak the spores on in an s or z or anarchy symbol. however you feel really. if you don't know how you feel, streak in a question mark pattern.

I just put a tiny bit in the center and let it grow out from there. The less spores you use the less chance of contamination’s. Is it better to streak though? Idk, I’m still a noob at agar lol.

I guess my real question is about the size of the plates, I have seen a few different streaking patterns. Would the more elaborate patterns work in the space.
