I think I may have been doing 2Tbsp per container but I was also using the Ziploc extra small square ones that stack perfectly. The mini rounds donβt stack well at all ime

The consensus with agar seems to be that anything over an hour is going to be risking caramelization of the sugars in it. You can't do them side by side with grain jars.

How long can you keep unused pasty plates around? I want to make some, use a few and save the unused ones for transfers.

Good to know. So when I make it Iβll just make enough for what I need, then do the transfer plates on a different day when it comes time.

I like to make mine fresh every time, they tend to get pretty dry after awhile. Mine are considerably drier after a week.

so ive been using these for a while for clones. but I just started my first plates from spore syringe's. I noticed 1 penis envy plate already has a little but very visible spot of myc. when do you guys like to do the first transfer? I feel like ive seen people do it pretty fast. I'm not really worried about out running contam or anything. I usually let my plates grow a little. but any input would be appreciated.

i like to take the first transfer pretty quickly mainly because i want to hurry up and get some clean organized growth to put to grain. it all depends on how the culture is acting but around a dime size or smaller is typical for me.

well I guess your the man to ask lol you've definitely done your share of transers. funny, this is my first time with PE and I was just looking at lotkids tips for it the other day. so do you case yours? and does that seem to help discourage blobbing or no?
I gotta start up a thread later I think. ive been at it for a while and I think this grow is gonna be really nice. weren't one of u tribe guys giving away ape swabs?

i do case my penis envy tubs and it USUALLY cuts the blobs almost all the way out. but, i have one clone culture going now that is blobbing it's balls off even cased. some say that consolidating the spawn for a while will cut out blobs too. user "applesinamono" just posted pics of a penis envy grow that is beautiful. he consolidated for a month (i think) before spawning and didn't case so...
yes. some tribe members were offering ape swabs. i don't know how many are left though. my penis envy swabs are going pretty quickly.

thing about PE blobbing without a casing layer is pure nonsense, gotten away with more solid blobless flushes without casing layers than with them
its genetics, pure and simple
