I'm still very new to agar and everything in general. Do you know what the rings may be? Yeah I have no plans of transferring to grain until I know I have a clean plate. I'm working on transfer 3 now. Probably will do transfer 4 tomorrow hopefully. Should I just throw away all the previous plates? Been keeping them idk why lol.

Doing my first set of pastyplates today, pretty amped and it seems ridiculously easy. (opted to MEA instead of the cheap stuff) but prepped the mini rounds yesterday (that was easy... I was doing a variety of lid styles in my workshop and can no doubt say these were the easiest )
Starting with a half dozen. Waiting on using my petris until I've played with these a bit and see some healthy tissue, and I'm ordering a 500ml media bottle for pouring.
Will stack some lids, wrap in foil, PC for 40 @ 15psi, allow to depressurize, move directly to the SAB.
And all while enjoying super potent brownies.

Anyone try putting SFD's over their GE holes on these? I did try the search engine, no bueno - I was kinda surprised.
I did on one to see how it would compare to the others, I was already making up a shitload of different lids and had extra SFD chunks out, figured why not.
Have to do the plates today (damn I woke up at 3am... reclaim brownies will knock your ass out) because I had some guests over unexpectedly yesterday.
I'm thinking of using the paper towel method on grain jars, since I made a shitload of lids for them. Which was kind of funny, since I use spawn bags - I'd just had the SHIP's and SFD's sitting there forever and randomly got inspired I guess.

Should definitely work. Cuz why not.

Exactly what I thought
If the paper towels keep it dry I'll be pleased.
Decided to do my first set this morning, tried my best to bring the pressure up slow AF, going to let it cool until tonight.
PC'er depressurizing on the stove slowly AF now.
I didn't have any food coloring on hand, but after making half a dozen of these things, I am hardly worried about running out of MEA anytime soon...
Thank you very much Pasty/JHOVA/Munch. I plan on continuing to use these even when I get a flowhood and use mostly disposable petris.

Pour them thick. Refrigerate.
Sfds will work but,it's a waste imo

If you get extra water pooling around on day 2-3 after you made them take em to the sab and dump it out and give em a flick non violently. When i make plates i just turn the pc off immediately after the time is reached (45 minutes).
I also now cook agar initially with the hottest heat i can get to reach steam venting asap. Ime it doesnt matter if you bring up the pressure slowly or not to prevent excess condensation.

I had better results with the one I put SFD on for my first set as of so far, in terms of condensation on the sides they all had it, this one just a bit less than the others. The SFD was dry to the touch under the damp paper towel, and all the micropore taped ones were wet. I added an additional layer of tape and went to town. 4x PE, 2x Syzygy.
I accidentally dropped 2 drops of spores in a couple of them, will take some getting used too; at least until I can use my inoc loops. I look forward to cloning with these, blenderless inoculant, tiger dropping, the works.
I'll be buying more minirounds very soon... and all of them are getting penny-sized SFD's on the lids. I just make a little circle of RTV around the 1/4" hole, press down hard, wait for it dry and remove the RTV that pushes through the other side in one clean strip.
My first run, wish me luck. Have the micropore tape drying out a little in my SAB and then deciding on a place to put them for colonization.
This. is. the. tits. God-tier TEK Pasty, major respect.

Only imperfection as far as I could tell was some of them cooked at a slight angle, but they were propped in lid rings so nothing worth fretting about, just something to be mindful of next time (get em' as flat as you can I guess)

Some of mine are made with SFDs. Bear in mind you need to scratch the shit out fo the plastic and get it real rough before you adhere the SFD circle to it.

I dremel around the holes of every lid I make with a sanding tool, which causes abrasion. Tried and true with plastic and metal lids. Though, with these I honestly feel it's a matter of using enough RTV silicone to fill the gaps in the logo on the lid when pressed flat, and that appears to be holding up just fine.
My biggest question right now is: Where the fuck do I store them.
Lol...

Actually just dug up a shoebox I can spray out that I was sitting there looking at like "what do I put in this thing" lol...
Problem solved.
I'm gonna go with your advice and tap the excess water off in a few days. The only thing I am not digging about this tek is the condensation and I went through a lot of trouble to pressurize and depressurize as slowly as possible, thought maybe two layers of foil next time? Paper towel definitely kept the SFD one dry, but still condensation within the mini round.
Either way, it obviously works just fine so I'm amped as fuck to see some growth!

Let the agar cool and set before putting the lid on and sterilizing. I do that and don't get condensation anymore

It was actually in the fridge before I shook it and poured it into the mini rounds, reasoning being my media container was too tall for my PC'er, so I put it in there for a day so it wouldn't go to waste. I shook it before each little pour. I really didn't need 250ml..... now I need more mini rounds!
I allowed the temp to raise very gradually.
More paper towel and foil maybe? Problem with tight fitting multiple layers of foil, I'd need to find a new way to keep these level in the PC'er other than setting on rings which is extremely convenient.
