Did you ever end up seeing anything? Mine are 3 days in now and there's 0 signs of any growth. I'm trying to be patient but it's frustrating when for all I know I fucked up somewhere and ruined the plates or my spores are junk.
If you royally fucked up you would know by now.

Yes I'm starting to see some tiny tiny growth on 3 of the 6. I also have 3 BRF paste plates. One with 5 spots of germination. Really tomentose growth though.

It almost freaks me out seeing the BRF paste plate growth because how fuzzy it looks. Like little cotton balls. Planning on doing some transfers soon.

if you have growth you can take transfers. use some judgement. obviously you wouldn't transfer if the culture is smaller than a dime. but it doesnt need to cover 80% of the plate before you transfer.

Oh okay yeah it's about the size of a dime. Once I do the transfer should I just throw the old plate out? And also would a paper clip be okay to be used as a scalpel like tool?

Keep it around until the new one takes off, just to make sure the transfer takes

I used this tek to a t and my agar seems to seperate when its cools down. It's still like jello consistency but two parts.

you may have to use a bit more agar powder if you want it to be firmer for your next batches..

It's defiantly firm enough. It's like the nutrients are on the bottom and agar on top. All a stiff jello texture. But not too stiff.

i've had that happen when i don't properly dissolve things. nowadays i boil it on a very low boil and stir very frequently for 20 minutes. i don't remember if this tek calls for that but it works for me.

If I do pda with idaho flakes it seperates. I don't cook it at all. Just until the agar dissolves. I havent noticed a problem

Update: Tried an experiment with a new tek and the results are that yelling "fucking germinate already" at your plates does not seem to influence mycelium growth. I'll keep monitoring though.

hey folks, just wondering if anyone actually did punch holes at the sides of their plates instead of the top just so you wouldnt have to put tissue and foil over the lid, and howassit it? is it any better? thanks. just contemplating about it for the next purchases...
