For the most part they do, I was just trying to compensate for the occasional bad batch which I have run across, driving the average down. Fact is that I still have some of the very first ones I ever did and have probably gone well over 10 runs, just trying to be on the safe side of things.

No question. I have used your screw top ziplocks many times back when I was first experimenting with no pour well before I had an account here. My reasons for not using them is ergonomic rather than durability. I find dealing with the large size of the container and the screw lid cumbersome. I can hold the mini round and crack the lid with one hand allowing the other hand free to use my tools and exposing very little of the container to the air in the SAB. Plus I can fit many more mini rounds in my fridge which is a plus when you get over 50 cultures on the go.
Your ziplocks work perfectly fine for most purposes. I did successful agar with them before I ever saw your tek. It all comes down to personal preference. For me ergonomics and compact size trump durability and not needing to modify the lids
Well said. I love this tek. Been using it since I started.

Friendly communication around here.. maybe I had forgotten? I obviously give a shit about the answers or I would not be here. Chill out, maybe I need a refresher? People have a lot going on in their lives and this kind of information is a lot to take in. Great encouragement. Sorry.

I've used bodhisttas tek. I used it for this. Didn't find it so I asked because I had forgotten. I use th search engine every time I have a broad question, when it pertains to my personal grow and suggestions that's different IMO.
I'm aware, guess I'm just not typing in the correct keywords.
-Added josex to my search and found a post replying to me. I understand a repeat question is annnoying but sometimes people need another reminder. Sorry to cause an issue.

Does this tek call for a 2:1 of patatoe flake:agar by volume? (Teaspoon) no scale :/ It first mentions 2 Tablespoons but then mentions a teaspoon.

Picked up some of these glad thingers and figured I'd give it a shot. None of the lids snap down anymore after PC'ing. Bummer. Did they change the plastic in these things since this tek was made?

Wow. Idunno man. (see if the same happens with the higher quality Ziploc screw-tops?) Someone else, take it from here

some do some dont. it happens after a few cycles no matter what on the square top and glad minis. you gotta be careful with those loose tops that you dont open them in open air. besides that its a blessing in a sab working with one hand upside down.
theres $1.99 3/pack at big lots that have snap tops. they work ok with or without GE holes. sometimes the they warp outta shape. its happened to 2 so far from stacking them. a lot clearer than glad minis and larger culture area.
the twist tops violet uses look nice i might try some soon.

I'd prefer violets screw tops over the snap ons. I couldn't see shit in those. After a pc cycle they shouldn't "snap" on, they just close... As long as you don't plan them in open air you're good

Ahh ok. I was expecting them to snap on as good as new again. To be honest I tried them on a whim and I much prefer petri dishes at this point. I got used to the security of parafilm and being able to toss stuff around a bit.

Some lids will shrink. Its the nature of the beast with those little guys. You just need to be extra careful when you handle them

Nothing stopping you from parafilming and at that point a loose lid is preferred

Yeah the little handle made that a bit more difficult than I liked. I ended up letting the kids use them as science experiments. They're having fun anticipating what will grow from their grubby paws touching the agar. I'll give the screw tops a try as I'll be testing out muda's jar grow tek as well.

I like the reusable options over petris like 1/4 or 1/2 pint jars. These are secure as shit, you just have to handle the cup instead of the lid
