Any good?
they look really thin so might not last multiple reuse, esp. if going to 15psi.

Really flimsy...the lids are easily pushed in, so I threw mine away. They do work as pots, but they are NOT the same as the sturdy pots in the image. I ended up buying the ones pictured from another market website *cough cough*
I would be wary of amazon reviews, the picture could be correct now.
This asshole fucked up and bought the wrong size, and gives a 1 start review because of his mistake!

we used to make the little clear plastic deli tubs where i work, but unfortunately they shipped all those to another plant. not sure how many runs they would have held up to; they were pp5, but the walls were really thin.

Has anyone tried to use carob's seeds flavour instead of agar??
it should be a natural thickener too but I don't know if I need to adjust the recipe

Yay! Lynerd! You may not like it much at first but it gets easier and way more fun once you get used to it. Good luck! Quote:

Do you mean Carob seed flour? Agar solidifies which is what we're after. Exactly like gelatin for desserts that firm up. Does this craziness you speak of solidify or just thicken? If it just thickens then its merda

Carob seed probably doesn't contain the same gelling properties as agar. Also gelatin fell out of favor because it's melting point is lower. Gelatin can still be used but agar is favorable. I'm not sure but I think things with gelling capabilities like tapioca melt at higher room temperatures.

I'm curious what happens to your plastic containers after 3 pc cycles? How do these go bad?
I feel like I've pcd mine more than 3x and they appear to be in good condition still??

Nice tek Pasty!~
I do really like the idea of using food coloring in the petri dishes. If I do some agar work I'll definitely try this!~

I love this tek, it's so damn easy and works great. Once you get into agar you'll love it. Thanks pasty! and I PC'd my cheap dollar tree container's at least five times and there still fine.

standard rise to 15 psi, even out & cook for 45 mins?
sorry, noob question. I know the glass jars are done 15psi but was wondering if you use less pressure for PP5 containers. I assume since I cant find it in the tek its 15psi correct? I saw that you can remove the weight to get it to rise to pressure slower if that would help.
thank you, just getting back into PCing with my old 23qt presto

Yeah 15 psi. Let it heat up and steam for ten minutes then put the rocker on. After the rocker starts rocking set your timer for 45 mins. Don't remove rocker until it has stopped and cooled a bit. Good luck!

you dont want the rocker to move much, maybe a couple times per minute but thats it, if it keeps rocking you lose steam and thats moisture leaving your jars etc.. you dont want that. once your rocker starts rocking turn down the heat so it holds at 15psi and the rocker only jiggles once in a while.

You can open the pc as soon as your pressure drops to zero and take them out then but they will need time to set
