There's no conflicting information. Powdered agar IS in the tek. Is what I use. It's what A LOT of people use. It's crazy cheap. All agar agar is vegan. It is gelatin made of sea weed. It's used to make vegan jello... and agar media lol. Don't over think things. Just do it.
1 level teaspoon agar agar powder. 2 teaspoons potato flakes. 1/2 cup water. 1 drop honey. 1 drop food coloring.
That will give you 8 plates.

I wasnt talking about conflicting information in the tek, I was talking about conflicting info on the net. Kept seeing it was vegetarian and not vegan. I was just thrown off by word misuse. I know its annoying but im very strict about it, I appreciate the insight, i was reading about it. I have to pick up potato flakes from a health store that has agaragar.
Thanks for all your help, I do overthink things but I'd rather be sure than just saying fuck it ya know. youve been a lot of help the past few days, dhype. I do appreciate it.

Agar is sometimes called vegan or vegetarian Jello/gelatin since gelatin is made from animals. Agar is made from a kind of seaweed.

you've done a good job of this so far, but I think you know enough and are smart enough to just go for it. often people learn more when they make small mistakes.

If its so easy can you post a few links.
Not about plastics leeching, I have no interest in that. This is the claim/point people are interested in.

Pastywhyte said: We use agar to ensure a clean culture, to get clean clones and to isolate pure strains. For your novice grower an isolate is perhaps not worth the time and effort to obtain. A clean ms culture from most of the well domesticated varieties will deliver good results. Cloning can give you some good consistency as well later on. Once you have been growing for some time isolates might be something you want to put the effort into doing.
Many people do a few transfers from ms to simply cut down the number of competing genetics, which usually results in a better grow. But clean culture is clean culture.
Thanks!

I made up an eight pack of these last night and it was quite easy to do. This morning when I took the foil off I noticed the lids don't 'pop' on or off anymore, they just kinda rest on top the container. I wrapped the edges with glad to secure them. I hope they work out <fingers crossed>

They'll work you're just going to have to be careful with them. I taped a couple lids onto the ones that were really loose because I kept accidentally lifting the lid off lol

I have quite a few with lids that just sit on them. Just make a habit of treating them all like the lids are loose and you'll be fine. I hated them at first but have learned to love how easy they are too work with.

I was digging around and found a pretty cool thread that mentioned pasty's thread so i thought i'd drop a link in case anybody else is interested in pour/ no pour reuseable containers with a high visibility lid.
After using a few different containers (like wide mouth 1/2 pint jars and square uneven bottom small tupperware) i still find myself going back to glad mini's because you can place them upside down and manipulate them with one hand while holding an xacto knife in the other.
