We're always getting fucked one way or another. Also, I gotta work at keeping the condensation to a min. Might go prep some more "plates" after and try what cronicr said a bunch of pages back about letting them reach room temp before PCing. I've also been using old PP5 containers I had for cakes back in the day. With the 4 holes on the sides. I just double up on the micropore tape.

Any advice to keep the condensation to min??? The only one I know is -dont open the pc before the overnight cooling down process
but I always have to open it because I need to know if the pile of plates is laying on the side (which will cause the agar to become solid not flat)

let them cool before loading into the pc, also you can bring it up to pressure and lower the pressure slowly. that should help

Put empty jars in with them to fill the space. You shouldn't be worrying about such things.(Things tipping over)

Yup that will work. Any little container that has a 5 in the recycling triangle will work

I think I see one spec of clean mycelium, transfer that out to another clean agar dish. Your bacterial issues were likely caused by lack of sterile procedures or you just didn't PC them long enough

You gotta trash that shit, no second thoughts. I'd personally pc those plates before you open them next time you use your cooker. The green is sporulating mold, it has dropped nasty spores all over the plate already. Even if you had cube myc in there it would be covered in nasty mold spores and you don't want to fuck with that.
Lack of air doesn't have anything to do, it does not cause contams and an agar culture can perfectly thrive and grow in a plate without any gas exchange whatsoever, just the little air that's in the plate is enough. We make holes in the containers so the pc won't crush them. Probably your inoculum was the culprit, or your technique, or both.

Okay so here a question for you guys, I recently found this food coloring gel

Ingredients: Betty Crocker™ Neon Gel Food Colors. Corn syrup, sugar, water, modified cornstarch, yellow 5, yellow 6, red 3, carrageenan, potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate (preservatives), blue 1, citric acid.
Do you think since this already has corn syrup and sugar added I should skip the karo/honey, or scratch the idea and just use the traditional coloring. Thanks in advance!

Depends on how much of the stuff is needed to color your agar. If one drop is enough to color a cup of water then it won't really affect anything and you should proceed with the prep as usual. Don't know jack about food color in gel form but I guess you'd only need to add very little of the stuff, as it happens with most if not all food colors. Stuff is really concentrated, they're made to color your food, not to add any real nutritional value or flavor.

I made a batch with it last night and only used a small drop on a spoon and it did the trick, I just wasn't sure if the added sugar would effect it.
