This is correct. Having trouble with the ratio for my particular brand of agar. My pasty plates are done now though. I just harvested my fruits and took some tissue samples. Not feeling too good about it- cut my finger making holes for my still air box- and didn't feel very comfortable inside it. First time so I can only improve.
I've always preferred using a large metal coffee can to melt the holes in... makes perfectly round holes with nothing to snag yourself on. larger holes can also make it more comfortable to work inside. also, your arm holes should be spaced the same distance as your shoulders. If it isn't, you put a lot of stress on your arms trying to hold them in position.
I've also always preferred to clone pins over cloning mature fruits, but I've done both.

This thread is about pre-poured agar plates. Look at the first page.

Honestly the slant is okay and it'll colonize just fine so you don't really need to mess with it. But if you really want to and have a microwave you could prolly blast em with microwaves for a few seconds and they'll become liquid and recenter.

2cm maybe
Well, depending what you're doing.
I like to fill the minis right to that line where they start to widen out. The pint ones there's a kind of identifiable line on the ones I get.

yep. a microwave will usually melt the agar in a localised area first, this can be enough to swirl around and mix with any "free water" and make it all set again. If you microwave to the stage where it is all liquid you will probably have condensation problems again.

Need to make some plates for masters.
Anyone got a simple recipe for master plates? I'm thinking maybe just a little less agar powder, and a little less nutes, to get rhizomorphic growth and maybe not as stiff agar for easy breaking up in the grains. Cutting, slicing, somewhere im getting contams. I'd like to make 6 masters off a 5th transfer plate, grow those out, and use one plate per jar x6 jars.
Seem feasible?

a master plate is one you go back to for reuse. on the fifth transfer I would take 2, keep one in the fridge for later use and make 6 transfers off the other one and tiger drop them
