When pressure cooking you want a metal tray in the bottom at least an inch high and then fill the water to the tray height so your minirounds dont float around or get knocked by boiling water

Can you guys help?
I left a agar culture too long and it pinned. I thought id try it anyway. After nearly a week I have no sign of growth in the bottles. The mix im using is mix seeds, soil, gypsum, straw and dog food, vermiculite. What do you think has gone wrong?
I did the same with jars which were just mixed seeds and they are showing signs , however they were from a separate culture which again had began pinning.
I have loads of cultures almost read but dont know if I should wait a while, use a different culture in the same bottles(maybe cook for and hour) or change the mix.

I'd have taken the pins to new plates, rather than use a possibly slower fruiting sample.
That's how I think it's typically done with such plates. Either that, or wait until you get in-vitro spores you can swab

And so it begins.
Just swiped 3 plates with TOC swab. Was nervous, don't think I did THE best. My z pattern was more like abstract lines lol. Holding the plates upside down, and trying to maneuver in a 20qt SAB, that was tough. Laid a towel down, sprayed soapy bleach water, wore gloves, alcohol the gloves and on a paper towel. Uncoiled my plates. Put them in SAB. Wiped them down with my alcohol towels, opened the lid by the tab (that wasn't too easy either) and proceeded to swipe my plates....
Now they're on a shelf waiting. When should I see growth?

Microwaves are unpredictable and while in theory could be made to work, their inconsistent nature is going to require any person wanting to use one to forge their own methods as no two microwaves are going to operate the same.

They are inconsistent so difficult to make a tek to cover all models. Once you use the same one, same containers, same placement inside, same power, same substrate etc then they are very predictable/repeatable.
I never wrote a tek on using them, I have given plenty of tips and advice on how to learn about how your own works. I also discussed simple ways to make them work better, like filtered containers. I also asked people to point to any failed microwave grows and I am confident I could spot where they messed up, or certainly I could say how it could be improved.
I used to put too much faith in people, I presumed most people knew how to operate microwaves these days as they are so ubiquitous. Then in threads I read about people being unable to cook a fucking tv dinner in them!, burning their tongue, and having half frozen meals. If you cannot manage to cook a frozen microwave meal then forget about it, you don't have a hope in hell.
One use I mentioned is to get rid of condensation in plates, you microwave a dish for a few seconds so a small portion will liquify and any free water in the dish mixes and resets.
