The aquarium SAB would work better if you had just left the open top(facing you) alone. You don't want tight arm holes that create suction and air currents when you move your hands. Get a piece of plexiglass and make two big 6 inch wide holes in it for your hands

Let your plates sit for a few days before using them. Those last plates you posted were crazy lol.
Only time I get bacteria like that is when I noc carelessly, open air and such.

just buy a nice Presto or Mirro, and hell, if you have the money, get an AA. i have a 22 or 23qt Mirro, which was only $60 with shipping, and I love it.
You're talking about the ones made for food. There's nothing better than one of those electric AA's. I get a hard on even thinking about one.

Yep that's what I'd like to get. Bet they are pricey too. I haven't had time to look yet.
And yeah those plate I got excited because I Thot it was so much Mycellium growing cus too much SPORES and I thought it looked weird cus I screwed something up BUT NOPE. FAIL!!! Lol I was thinking. I may know what I did to get bacteria. I wash up good and washed hands in alcohol. But I don't remember putting the gloves on. I may have totally spaced and just slipped my hands in not thinking. Idk now if I did or didn't but I'm sure that would have caused loads of bac. Lol. I wasn't feeling well that night either I was feeling weak and just not myself so I very well may have spaced and not put the gloves on. I can't remember. I want to record my next one and see if anyone can give me advice on what I need to improve on
As far as the SAB. There is enough space that it doesn't make a suction. That's why I put the Dust shield hanging over them and my arms. The foam has areas that will allow air to pass instead of making a suction But also. The foam is breathable too. So Even if I would seal it up completely it would make a great glove box cus the air would be filtered thru the Foam stuff I used. But I'm not making a GB. I am going to improve t tho maybe this evening
I have my plates sitting in the SAB with lids not tight but not open. Is this ok? I made the lids like you did. 1/4 hold with MP tape but I screwed lids on and then turned them loose like half a turn Good or bad ? Or doesn't matter? My container I had to Put them in broke so I just kept them in SAB. That's ok right?

I just found a pressure OVEN. It's like a microwave shape but it's a pressure oven. That would work great right? It's $100 and said $350 when it was new. Or would a PC be better than PO

Oh. I asked about that cus I need an oven in my RV. So if it would work good. Then I'd have an oven AND a PC. That's why I asked. I'm trying to get a regular PC today but doubt I can yet. We need something to cook our foods so I have to spend money on that first.
I mainly just wasn't sure how the pressure oven works compared to PC. So Thot maybe one of you have heard about them. I didn't know they existed

As far as drying out I was reading and they have a moisture thing you can put inside so it doesn't dry foods. But $100 is a good deal IF. IF Icould use it for this and the oven for foods. Ima just hold off tho. It's a bit smaller than we need for an oven anyways. I want to have a PC so I can do everything EXACT. And although someone said its the same thing cus it has a metal bowl for water to PC thing In it. But I just am going to pass and get the same exact things everyone uses

If you are gonna buy it cause you need it anyway then go ahead. Then try your grain in it. If it fails go get a PC lol.

Naw I meant I'm going to pass on the offer Its one of those things that if have to practice with it and figure out how to use it properly for this. I have enough stuff to practice and get right first. Then maybe later I will get one of those for the RV and try it. My buddy said they are AWESOME for cooking meat He said a roast fell apart Into shreds and was amazingly tasty. I told him what I was doing and he said to just get a PC for that.and it would be easier And he said the jars wouldn't stand up inside it PC I'm looking for now I want a nice one that will last so I may save a little more and get a good one. PC or sterilizer. Whatever I find a better deal on I guess I will get

Actually thanks for saying about not getting it at first. It made me think more and more about it and glad I didn't jump at it. If he still has it later on I may get it then but right now k want to keep things as close as to what you guys all use. That way if I'm still having trouble I can easily narrow it down But I think things are good so far now. First attempt wasn't but second looking good so far

I wonder if dry heat under pressure is as efficient as steam under pressure. I'm leaning towards a no, but what do I know?

Well most PCs won't hold pressure without steam. If your PC runs dry during a run, you'll know because it will quickly depressurize

I'm thinking maybe this oven also uses steam pressure too. Idk. I wish I had the extra money to test it out. Future plan tho for sure. I really hope I can get a PC this week now. Just been tight. Business hasn't been good but my health not so much. Just able To Work enough to pay what we need to pay and get a few supplies here and there
