yeah, i wish the bottom didnt do that, either.. but i will work around it heh.. the ziplocks do seem to indent a little more than the glads. i am hoping to find some nice pp5 or even glass containers with clear lids. there are these one round glass containers with screw on white lids, that i am going to buy. i know i would like a little more clarity to see..

Lol, thanks for letting us know, but no that is not micropore.
It is breathable tape for covering bandages.
Certainly would not work as a filter.

Micropore is also called surgical tape.

Mupet, 3M is a brand; not hole size. GreenRabbit, they do manufacture micropore tape also.

Yea... I was replying to puka's post with the pic of the tape. Didn't realize there was another page so...

Anyway, here is what micropore looks like for the noobs.

I bought some before realizing they made different widths. Mine is very thin, but can still cover my GE holes with one piece so I'm cool with it.
The 1" width seems optimal though.

Oh cool.

3M markets the paper tape as Micropore
while they call the  cloth  type  Medipore.

I think the Medipore is what I use for medical tape when I'm rock climbing. It's great for covering blisters.
I was pretty sure it would work as a bio-filter but didn't want to use it without being certain.

I don't actually see a medical use for Micropore...
Then again, they call that surgical tape, and I am no surgeon.
Except when it comes to PF cakes.

it remains sticky when wet, so it works well on bloody body parts

I actually used the cloth type a few times based off of van der griegens results with it and it worked pretty good for me. I don't trust it to go through a bunch of cycles just single layered so I would double it up or add some paper micro pore to it later. But if it's all you have on hand it will work in a pinch for sure.

Might have to keep a roll of each with my chalk bag then.

It seems like a piece of Micropore with a piece of Medipore on top would be great. If the Medipore comes off in PC the Micropore is still there, and you can just reapply the Medipore.

Have 16 APE Pastyplates on the go. Ziplock sq w. 2 crossed pieces of micropore tape.

8 glass petri with PE. Failed those as non-pour and redid 'em

Think I might do some Pan Cambo xfers today. Had very little luck with that strain tho.

Thx again for the contribution my fellow Canuck

Nexcare and other brands call it "Gentle Paper tape". It'll say "compare to 3M micro pore" on the package.

3M's adhesive doesn't stick to the lids when removing it like the other brands I've tried.

I picked a couple packs of these up at the local Dollar Tree here:

The red lid ones were a dollar for 5 and the little white lid ones a dollar for 10!!! i hope they both work, i am trying them in the PC now. the red lid ones say pp% on them, so not too worried, but the white lid ones dont say anything. so i hope they are ok. if they work, i am going back to buy every single pack they have. =]

Finally got through my first "bars" of agar and cutting them up and grinding them is a pain in the ass! So I hit local Asian grocery store and grabbed some powder. :awedance: Couldn't remember the ratio of powder so I grabbed 2 packs at $1.99 each. Since each pack is 25 grams looks like I have enough to do 160 plates if my math is right. :laugh2:
