Tiger I have a Cambo clone that pins in clusters on the plate. If potency was better I would grow it a lot more. Sadly I doubt it will make the next round of culture cuts.

that's cool as fuck. And what do you do just nothing at all? Or do you crack it open for more air here and there?

Offtopic, why do you like growing albinos so much? Do you notice a trip difference in them or do you think potency is just as random in the A+ and other varieties.

Well if your talking all the Lucy grows it's because I have been working on my cross. It took a dozen grows just to find the F2 phenotype I was looking for. That was actually pretty lucky it could have taken hundreds.
Now to stabilize them requires at least 5 or 6 more generations. If a certain generation turns out to have undesired traits I need to then go back one. That's a lot of grows and a lot of mushrooms
I love APE because of their potency and look, they are also a tricky one sometimes. I haven't grow regular AA+ in years but I like them too. I am a fan of anything not typical I guess.

This is bacterial right?

Damn it. I keep getting this shit lately... This is MEA. 15 psi for 45 mins. Must be the poly. Next time I'm doubling up the filter with 2 layers of micropore.
My agar powder is almost 2 yrs old as well. Nothing remarkable...but I was thinking it's from the agar?
Gadddammmit it's so frustrating...!!

Is that before or after a transfer? If you let them sit uninoculated for a couple weeks with no contams, then they're slipping in during transfers/inoc, and you need to fix your techniques.

Yeah, usually when I get a contamination on the edge of a pasty plate it's from my procedure/air movements.

do it, see what happens. The experience will do you well. Also, could let a few plates sit and grab a pin clone. Pin clones are a great way to start narrowing good genetics. Fruiting genetics guaranteed - or so im under the assumption.
-me not know lots of genetics

Hey guys! So I inoculated my plates with clone tissue about 5 days ago, and I'm seeing some action finally! Is 4-5 days a normal wait time to see clone tissue start to run? 7/8 plates show growth No signs of contams yet.
here are 2/8 plates

This third plate looks a little different than the others; My first thought was bacteria (maybe my knife was dirty for this plate or something), but then I thought maybe it was just water that had gathered around the tissue, water that might have had a little malt suspended in it and the myc is colonizing it like a mini LC? Let me know what you think

Thanks yall

And as you can see, there's still a bit of water in that one dish.. I tried to dump it when they were in the SAB, but the surface tension was holding the water on the lip of the container, and I didn't want to shake it to make the water drop because I didn't want to stir up the air while the plate was wide open..

It's a blank plate. Or could it be just dried up water on the surface? They are, if I remember correctly, around 2 weeks uninoculated now. ...thanks for the help.

Yeah could be the poly. It needs to be very tight, or inspect the container for any holes from a red hot scalpel. The lid can be having a bad seal too.. All of those are things I needed to work on..

Miniround lids get uncomfortably loose pretty damn fast. I don't use GE, I just leave the poptops half-snapped during the PC run, and the minirounds slide all the way on during the run, unlike other poptops I've used.
--------------------
I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister. I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave. I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent. Triggered yet? Only a square would say "a cube is a cube."
No, this does not look right...

They work better after they've been worked in and the lids loosen up. Loos lids are much easier to open with one hand in a SAB. I hate using new containers with their tight ass lids.
I've got mini rounds that have been run multiple times a month for over 2 years and I've never had one contam because of a loose fitting lid.

They are so rattley they make me nervous. Probably without cause. Contams have a hard time making it upward.
I also found I had to get my finger uncomfortabley into the rim of the lids of miniround to get them open compared to other poptops. Probably just need practice with them to master it. Doubt I'll get much, too much of a cheap ass to buy namebrand.

My favorite ones are the round ziploc pop tops but they don't sell them anymore. So now I settle for mini rounds or square ziploc pop tops when I buy new pp5s.

Yup. They have horible visibility but I like the square dent in the center of the lid. I makes a nice spot for a small piece of SFD.

I like any sort of hummus/dip container shape 8oz a lot. Gives a lot of surface area to work with. I've taken to putting 3 clone samples on each plate, then making a fast transfer on any one that gets rolling. They also stack well.
