Take a video and/or a sound memo on your phone. Its easier to speak out a fast description about what it is, which you may think you will not need later. Writing out details seems like a chore and you keep thinking "sure I am going to remember all this, why write it all out". You can name the sound memo according to the label. Otherwise you end up with sparse notes which would have made perfect sense the next day or week, but a few months on it can be worthless.
They can be kept cryptic and vague/confusing if anybody else was to hear them.

Quick question peeps. Can you store agar culture petris in the fridge to slow growth for later use? Say like a couple of weeks?

Oh yeah I do minis. And haven't check out the other threads yet but I will now. The agar in fridge thing is on page 4. I didn't find temps or times. Don't need too. My fridge don't get too cold I'm sure got it set on 4 out a 9. Just need my mono plates to hold off for a few weeks to harvest and free up two tubs to free up three jars to knock up with the.monos. lol. I'm getting a little too far ahead of myself.

So if your agar has a sweet/sour smell to it, should you toss it? I do finally see some growth on it though.

you smelling it through the filter? I personally think if its smelling funny the worse it could be contams. but we have the ability to isolate away from contams, do you see anything that looks funky?

Well i open them up in my SAB and check on them. ill take some pics quick.
I guess I read up on the sweet smell and it sounds like bacteria, so i guess my next question would be if bacteria effects the mycelium in a negative way.
The plate in this picture is was inoculated on 9/9/15. I just noticed growth on it today. Should I transfer that guy out of there now, or wait till it gets a little bigger?

Transfer away from the bacteria to clean up the culture further and post more detailed pics, I can barely see what's growin in there.
