Dog food is cheap and cubes love it. I use 10 grams per 500ml batch of agar and a 4kg bag is only like $8. The only problem with it is plates pin too quickly on it to use DFA for storage.

Yeah the only problem is you can clone without needing to do an ms grow first

I have 3 grows going from invitro pin clones. With my PE/KSSS cross attempt I let a petri pin drop spores then used those spores to make an LC in a syringe without even opening the plate. I got to skip straight to F2. I might just drop some of that on a plate and repeat the process. It would be cool to stabilise a variety without ever doing a gro. It might not result in the strongest variety but it would still be cool to do.

No. My cube projects are kind of the back burner right now. I'm really focused on my edibles ATM. Once I have finished my updated bottle tek grows you likely won't see me posting anymore cubes.

After adding print or liquid spore to pasty Agar what condition should it be stored in? And how would you go about inoculating cakes, grains, or popcorn?

Let them colonise at room temperature. After they are colonised they can be stored in the fridge. There are a few options on how to inoculate with agar. Grains can be inoculated by simply throwing in a wedge. For cakes you will need to turn it into a liquid first.
This is what I do with mine. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/20429745#20429745
Oh and popcorn is grain.

Oh okay awesome! So if using popcorn after all the steps when I jar it and sterile it, does it need to come out of the jar into a fruiting chmber after wedge has been added and colonized? Also would I place the wedged grain jar in room temperature? And lastly is it okay to just place wedge at top of grain? I feel there would be some changes of infestation

When I tiger dropped my pasty plates, I shook them pretty good. They started colonizing all over the place, rather than just from the wedge out.

Awesome and after you li a jar do you let it colonize and drop it in a fruiting chamber? Or let it completely grow out of jar?

you mix the fully colonized grains with bulk sub f.ex. bucket tek'ed coir+verm into a monotub or tray. grains dont do well at all being fruited as a cake.

you should make a thread. click the first link in my signature and make a thread what do I do with a colonized jar of spawn?
do you have a jar colonized by a pasty plate?

Grain blocks can do fairly well if willing to put in the effort but for the long term it's just not worth it. I was able to get 28 dry grams off of two flushes with a wbs block and a SGFC. You have to mist and fan between 5 and 8 times a day but it is possible to get decent results.

If you used a quart of grain to make that brick I would say that's just barely acceptable.

grains simply refuse to pin on their own for me. Even fruited from the top of the jar with a casing layer the return is pretty sad compared to when spawning it to bulk.
And I dont know how I could keep the grains moistured if I were to fruit it like a cake. stuff dry up very fast around here.

I've fruited oysters from bottles of straight un cased grains. They did great. Never tried with cubes though.

I understand that it is barely acceptable when comparing it to bulk. But if you compare it to a pf cake, it yields alot more and takes alot less time to go from inoculation to harvest. Like I said, it can do fairly well if you are willling to put in the effort.

Hello, I Used this tek recently and I followed the instructions. The agar came out looking great and I think it's working, but I can barely see into some of the containers because of condensation. The tek suggests bringing the PC up to pressure slowly, and leaving it in the PC afterwards to cool, which I also did. Anyone else have trouble getting rid of the condensation on these dishes?
Hopefully it doesn't scare away the myc

I use the paper towel with it and wipe it out.
I have some plates that have been out of the PC over a week and they are still condensated badly. So I just wipe it out with the sterilized towel.
